Correct me if I’m wrong, but Sonic the Hedgehog on Genesis is 16-bit not 8-bit.

Anyone remember Sonic Adventure for the Sega Dreamcast. The game was great and if you had a VMU (Visual Memory Unit) then you also could play the minigame or raise a Chao. Chao's were kinda like Tamagotchi, but better.

The ratio for good/bad Sonic games since the ps2 era is a lot better than you think. Heroes, Unleashed, Mania, Colors, Generations and The Wii games are either fantastic or at the very least good.

AGREED AF. i personally dig it but i grew up knowing about it but the only way you could see it was on Broadway... then the movie came out.. and i'm like cool.. It's the first time in this channel that I kept watching how the play the game instead of their reactions. I spent hours and hours playing sonic in the early 90s in my old sega. The 90s Sonic music is legit!

Is it any wonder that it is the '90's gen that started the whole "speed run" movement in current gaming? It was due to Sonic, it was this game that started that, I mean the original games whole point was to finish as fast as one could with the most rings, right?

The original game's formula was "let the player finish the level normally without much trouble, but make him come back, explore it, find the best path and get through it as fast as possible" Collecting huge amounts of rings were used for the good ending (Carry 50+ rings to an Act 1 or 2 of a level that isn't Scrap Brain Zone and enter the Giant Ring next to the goalpost to enter the Special Stage, find the Chaos Emerald in the Special Stage to get it, get 6 of the Chaos Emeralds to get a good ending) and for getting 1-Up's (Get 100 rings to get a Extra Life) So yeah.
