Original Video: • Shooting the Breeze # 39
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes, this channel is created and managed by Hickok45 and John, mainly John. The video clips on this channel are segments of videos taken from videos originally posted on the Hickok45 KZfaq channel. John always includes a link to the original video from which the clip is taken.
Hickok45 videos are filmed on my own private shooting range and property by trained professionals for educational and entertainment purposes only, with emphasis on firearms safety and responsible gun ownership. We are NOT in the business of selling firearms or performing modifications on them. Do not attempt to copy at home anything you see in our videos. Firearms can be extremely dangerous if not used safely.

@@jenniferm3572 Wake up to what soon!? So alarmist it's gotten pathetic. I heard the same line of baloney when Obama took office on 2008. He took office with just shy of 300 million guns in private hands. Every gun fanatic screaming about "they're coming for the guns now FOR SURE!" 8 years later, Obama is gone and we have over 400 million guns in private hands by 2016. As my dad, and his dad, always said: Nobodies coming to take your guns. Their ambitious, pie in the sky bureaucrats, but most of them aren't suicidal. Been hearing that since they stopped letting people buy machine guns. Maybe if so many of those so fervent about their guns also weren't constantly talking about "taking back out country" (news flash, it's not just the fanatics country) and saying stuff like "we are WAY past elections at this point", you wouldn't make people nervous enough to want to restrict your rights to start with. Responsible gun ownership INCLUDES calling out fanatical, irresponsible language, provocation, and not parading around scaring the beejezuz out of your fellow citizens and neighbors, so you can prove you're a real 'Murican, and own some guns. So do millions of other people who don't feel the need to parade around in public with them.

Amen. I’ve tried for 42 years to get mental health help for my younger brother. He’s been homeless and in and out of the justice system all this time. His problem is he doesn’t think he has a mental health problem and won’t accept help. That’s the other side of the problem.

That's how it works these days, nothing can be done unless the individual thinks they need help. Part of mental health issues seem to be that the individual thinks they are right and everyone else has the issues. I've been involved in trying to get help for a couple of people in my wife's extended family and it's a fruitless task so can sympathize with you angst with your brother. It's disgusting that we spend all this money on illegal immigrants while are cities are full of homeless people with mental health and drug issues that are mostly the reason they are homeless. let's have some charity at home.

Mentally sick people never think they are sick, they think everyone else is sick. The mental health people have a very low success rate. They are good at diagnosing, and tell you how the patient got there, but they don't cure squat. One of these days MAYBE, but it will be a long time. The only people that MIGHT get "cured" are the ones that see the light and TRY and work with the mental health people. If the patient does NOT do that, it is HOPELESS.

If anything aggravates you, avoid it. People just need to take inventory of their lives every once in a while and ask whether the things that are in their lives are actually improving it in some way, and if the answer is no and it’s not necessary or some responsibility, then cut it out. Piling up awful things is what eventually breaks your mental health. It’s very rarely ever one thing. It’s the weight of too many things you should have gotten rid of years ago.

Can’t love this video more. I recently saw a message on Instagram that said something to the affect of “The cure for society’s problems is a generation of great dads.” Imagine that. Imagine how many less boys would end up in gangs if there weren’t so many single moms. Imagine how many fewer girls would be single moms if they grew up with a dad that taught them self respect and what a real man looks like by simply being there for her mother? Imagine how many fewer school shootings there’d be if kids grew up in homes where mom and dad are there to constantly reassure and guide them thru good times and bad. Def not the gun’s fault. Us men and women simply need to be there for our kids. Once u make that decision to bring a precious child into this world, you have to promise yourself that u will put everything you’ve got into their upbringing.

I am truly saddened at the state of the world today !! There is an abundance of hatred against nearly any Race, Religion, Color, or more times than not, what just seems to be aimless violence and hate for what seems like absolutely NO REASON whatsoever !! I don't know exactly when it started to multiply, but I remember the America, that I grew up in, and that would be the America I want for my Grand children and Great Grand children !!! I know it wasn't without hate and bigotry, but it was mostly the exception, and NOT THE RULE back then ! I grew up with Jewish , Italian, and German friends, Catholics, Christians, and non affiliated families and friends !! We all got along, and it didn't require any great effort on our part to accomplish a kind and friendly relationship with nearly everyone I have ever known ! It did take character, and a love for your fellow man, which seems to have been much more common in past era's !! I lived through that time, and loved it , and all without any real effort, I could easily continue to embrace that old lifestyle again !! It just seems to me that it takes more effort to hate others than to co-exist and learn again to love and respect others as we were once able to do, not all that long ago !! I'm now 80 years old, and can honestly say I don't need to HATE, TO EXIST !!! How about You ??? I thank You for this post, and for a chance to talk about something that has bothered me for a long time !! Have a great day, and don't be afraid to show some compassion and Love to your neighbors in this lifetime NOW !!!

I'm a Republican and a Conservative. It's easy to see exactly when it "started to multiply", and it's started when Trump became President. Through his divisive rhetoric, he's given people permission to be openly racist and violent. I live in Michigan and I've never seen anyone publicly advertise their white nationalistic ideology until about 2 years after he took office. Now, in upper Michigan, I see trucks flying the confederate flag with giant signs like "White Privilege", something I've never seen in my 56 years on this planet. Here's an anecdote for you from around just the same time period. I have a friend who is Chinese and has lived in northern Michigan all his life. He is physician. After Trump took office, he and his family were harassed and had their lives threatened on several occasions - enough so that my friend had to move. Our Governor was also the target of a kidnapping during the same period. There's no question when things changed and now it's about to get considerably worse with the re-election of a wanna-be dictator. My dad and I are both Marines; my dad fought in the Korean War and I in Iraq. We're saddened to see a country, we put our lives on the line for, being transformed into puppet regime for Putin. Trump skipped out on military service and now he's going to be the Commander and Chief. It so sickens me to my core.

Reagan was behind it. I think something to do with how much tax money was spent on the institutions. Plus the abuse stories were coming out left and right. But using jails to hold and house the same sort of people who were in an institution back then, is nearly like being in those institutions, but without the meds. So, why not bring them back? Better spending than on all the "migrants". Close the border and help the mentally ill.

I put it this way... All of this started when they took the single serving knuckle sandwich off the menu on the playground in the western world. In the past if you said or did something truly bad, and kids were great natural judges of this, you earned a single serving of the knuckle sandwich. Almost every time it was served it was deserved. The person receiving it got instant clear feedback and accepted the correction, while not suffering undue harm. If delivered undeserved the playground took care of that with either a single serving back and/or social outcasting for an appropriate amount of time for the original knuckle man. The main benefit of the playground was everyone learned from each incident not just the parties directly involved. The learning happened at a key time in a persons development. As you aged from primary to high school the level of power behind a knuckle sandwich went from a sting to potentially damaging. That natural progression caused a decrease in needed use as everyone learned on the exponential curve, sinking in the idea of FAFO. We all also learned that speech cannot be offensive, being offended is an emotional response not something someone can really do to you. Sticks and Stones sunk in as well. Ultimately this created better behaved and better adjusted adults. Removing this tool has created a generation of entitled snowflakes while also awakening the older generations Karens.

very well said, I've noticed an utter and complete culture shift for the worst, it feels like a completely different world than even 2012ish. Something has also changed to where it's all about me-me-me and screw everyone else as a mentality just oozing from a ton of people's actions, thoughts, and words. Online has become extremely vile and toxic too over the years. "Gatekeeping" and finding any and everything wrong with another person's life or decisions even if they don't harm another soul. I could say something as simple as I ate a burger and these weird online people would come up with 10+ different reasons why I was "wrong" for what I did...from, the place I got it from, my condiments, not making it at home, if I did make it at home using premade patties and not getting my hands all gross rolling up hamburger meat, making it in my foreman grille fast instead of some fancy grille/stove-top, using beef instead of chicken, not using expensive grass fed organic meat, using meat at all instead of veggies, if I made everything completely from scratch, oh-and not using cast iron lol...and that stuff is just off the top of my head. I mostly just stick to myself these days and a small circle of friends, read/watch stuff I'm personally interested in for entertainment and education, since the world has gone so downhill. It's sad, truly sad. I'm only mid 30s too, I can only imagine how the older generations feel. It seems like some peoples' entire lives revolve around being very toxic and vile online. I've recently gotten on a kick of watching ww2 veteran interviews and I lost the comment I wanted to reply to on there but they were saying they were in their mid 30s too and felt SO alone and isolated in even caring about that subject, that nobody our age nonetheless gen z and the younger generation below that seem to give an ounce of care about learning about it and from people that lived through it/veterans. Parents didn't raise the younger generations right, a culture shift completely away from the family unit, and rife mental health problems everywhere have put us in a bad spot. I won't go on and on anymore lol. Just felt this comment and the vid in general were very relatable it was like a breath of fresh air. I have this problem, but I am autistic and let's say " 1000 times bitten, 1000 times shy". I actually learned the skills years ago, but they are almost useless now. I actually "forgot" due to the plandemic. I feel like I am drowning, yelling help, and no one sees me. I can't make new friends, I try, but they seem to prefer all the other people they know, and have no time for me. I have learned how to tone down my "obnoxiousness" even. Mental health will remain a problem because it's not profitable, same as helping the homeless, profit over people. Here in Florida, a builder won a bid to change a empty mall into affordable housing, decided midway, he wanted luxury apartments. Got caught and the county told him build affordable housing or pay 18 million dollar fine, guess what he did? If your thinking affordable housing, think again. Profit over people.

The problem there is that turning it into affordable housing would have turned that area into a crime filled shithole and ruined all the surrounding businesses, bled the city of tax revenue, and started a total collapse. Turning it into luxury apartments gentrifies the area, massively lowers crime and raises tax revenues, and benefits the city overall.

Did they actually spend it on homeless programs? Or did they funnel the money into 'Agencies' and 'NFP's' that paid themselves and associated companies to funnel the money into their own pockets rather than towards actual programs to help the Homeless? So much of our Welfare ends up in Corporations pockets instead of trying to solve the issues the money is supposed to be spent on. It's not just those fat Military Contracts that are pilfered and end up in offshore accounts. It's happening across the board. We the Sheeple indeed. While we scream at the TV when we see some poor guy pushing a shopping trolley with all of his worldly possessions - there are a bunch of people living it up in expensive housing 'compounds' and on their second yacht they bought with the money you thought was going to 'help' the guy pushing that trolley.

People trained with swords in his day , and fought hand to hand ! You'd think for such a people violence would be common place ?? But it wasn't ! Back in his day as in my father's if you murdered someone , you would be hanged ! Life was sacred and protected ! If a woman was raped it was a hanging offence ! Men would fight for honour ,boxing or swords for more serious offences of honour ! Members of government when disgraced would resign ! AND HERE WE ARE TODAY !!!! We are watching the destruction of everything our forfarthers left us ! America was a dream , that people (normal, working class people) made into a reality ! Bullying is a big problem, whether from home or from schools. Problem is schools do not do enough to curb bullying. With the technology today a person doesn't get to escape those people when they leave school. Then we have kids that are being told to not cry about something, it isn't worth crying over. The kids learn to hide their feelings. Then when they are having mental health problems, they don't want to talk about it or maybe they feel like they can't. Then you combine the two situations with bullying at school and not being able to talk about it at home.
