Hard to imaging what Papale actually pulled off. It’s simply incredible. Love the movie too even if it is a bit romanticised

I love your ability to tell the story behind the scenes and show the difference between the sometimes exaggerated Hollywood version and the real version. I feel like the real version is just as good a story if not better for all the people you choose to highlight.

Absolutely! I'll give credit to the movie producers for "adjusting" the punt muff (non) TD to a fumble recovery scoop and score "real" TD. But mostly, Credit to Flem for explaining this part to us and even tracking down the "why" for the rule that a punt muff recovery can't be advanced.

We dismiss "Rocky" claim as Stallone at time of filming would not qualify for Heavyweight class and Carl Weathers was a much smarter better athlete. "Rambo" also objectionable as Stallone never actually served...from MN Chapter of Mark Bavaro fan club. P.S. Stallone's contributions to Saturday Night Fever and Staying Alive is and until this day is immaculate and still still serves as heroic and inspiring for old and young.

Amazing story. IMO I think the real life version would make just as good of a film in a way. Just as remarkable in the sense of getting closer while dealing with setbacks until finally grabbing that brass ring. I do get how/why things have to be changed to tell a kind of story for effect and such, so it's understandable. I love the part about how Vince's touchdown in real life didn't happen only due to a rule technicality. The 'making the team, but somehow wasn't notified even when the locker and everything was setup' deal was hilarious. Always enjoy your work. Thank you!

FUN Fact & but my family runs Goldin Co. And when the movie was finished we auctioned off a bunch of the films props and jerseys etc, and I was able to get the one Mark wore in the film and I still have it in my closet to this day and wore it when the Eagles won the first superbowl. Keep up the good work Flem, big fan!

That first scene was Kevin Conway! I first saw him in the Civil War movies Gettysburg and God’s & Generals where he played the fictional Union Sergeant Buster Kilrain. Such a beautiful character, and such an outstanding 2 movies. I had completely forgotten he was in Invincible also. He passed away a couple years ago just before the pandemic. Was 77 years old. Broke my heart. Rest In Peace you beautiful bastard. May GOD bless you in the hereafter.

Damn flem there is no one better at these exposé’s on players, I learned some stuff I didn’t know about him, but I went to the same high school as Vince but you didn’t say it once in the video, the video even shows an article that says he was an Interboro teacher, it’s cool that you made a point to say that he actually lived in and was from Glenolden, PA, and not south Philly, but you are one of my favorite content creators on KZfaq and every video is so comprehensive, just don’t understand why it was left out, I was looking forward to you saying something about my high school, regardless, still loved the video and everything you do

I'm not gonna lie I didn't know this until I watched this video. I never knew the full story of Vince Papalle and this being a FlemLo video I had to watch it. But soon as I heard Dick Vermeil's name I had to rewind it and listen again carefully. First thought I had was damn he's been coaching for a long time, second thought was how old is Dick Vermeil and how long has he been coaching, then I thought of the Rams and Kurt Warner. Instantly I was like damn, no way. That's some ironic ish right there and coach Vermeil really judges his players on what they do on the field and not their credentials for a roster spot. When they tell u leave it all on the field, he must live by that
@ASimpleHeroinUser
