Hindu Academy aims to promote a Comprehensive and Rational vision of Hinduism incorporating ideas of Religious Pluralism, Spiritual Humanism, and resonance between Science and Spirituality. It operates with the education establishments by working with schools colleges and universities as well as in the mainstream media.
The role and relevance of Hinduism in contemporary society
Hinduism has a great deal to contribute towards the spiritual health of the modern world. Its inherent pluralistic teachings offer the best resolution to how people of different religions can co-exist peacefully in a multi-faith society. Hinduism even allows for spirituality to be explored in non-religious modes, making teachings relevant and interesting for the youth of today. Family values promoted by Hinduism can foster more stable family units and better community cohesion. The reconciliation between the truth claims of a science-oriented worldview and a religiously oriented worldview is obligatory in this century. The Hindu Academy invokes findings at the cutting edge of modern sciences to promote this reconciliation.

In one of Osho's videos, I also heard that Sri Ramakrishna tried various practices found in different religions, In one of the paths Sri Radha Sampradaya's way Ramakrishna felt so much feminine in himself, like he is a woman who was chanting Sri Krishna, kind of heard that he got the same hormonal changes that woman have...so basically he tried various paths and got the same result...

But I don't know my brain went to a sudden shock to sudden stillness I felt like soooooo happy that I got my answer in volenterily . My answer i got I worship her as the energy of the universe I worship her as my existence so if he says she is devil then I am a devil existing and she exist or doesn't exist I don't know but I kind of love her . I feel the same devotion to any god of any religion. So my no fear of uncertainty of her existence and kind of a love I feel her in every one's belief and devotion. I feel a no war zone as I don't know I felt the guy who told me she is a devil was also her . Shakthi is everything for me .

@@MX3MXO Agree, there are many things in their scriptures that Hindus do not agree with. Hence we should look at what are the things required for God Experience, other rules and regulations are secondary. Although they would insist their rules are set in stone, once they are in their book. This is where the problem lies. What Sri Ramakrishna's experience shows is one can experience God using their basic method which seems to be a combination of Bhakti and Karma Yoga. That is what is shown here. Swami Vivekananda said repeatedly we love Jesus, but we do not agree with the church and Christian theology, Similarly, we can say here, we do not agree with most of the Islamic theology that goes against our Sanatan Dharma, But We acknowledge their basic method still can lead them to the same God that we worship through our various pathways.

This makes me believe more and more that he was just hallucinating. After meditating on figuring few days, be in mother kali, Rama, Mohammad or Jesus he would start seeing them in imagination which is not a very difficult thing to do. Also if he had actually seen the divine mother, there will be no need to follow 10 more different paths to find brahma. His adventures with religions seem similar to people trying different diets to see what happens. There is very little divine there.

Do not ask who is God. Ask what is God. God is the word used for source of creation. What do we mean by source of creation? Ans: From that everything comes into existence. What do we mean by existence? Ans: a vast reality of the nature. So if God created the existence then where was God before existence there was nothing to be exist if existence doesn't exist. If God came into existence then how come we call him God Because God needed the existence to come into existense apparently he is omnipotent, omniscience, omnipresent. So my analysis says this that God and existence are not different from each other or separate from each other. Both are one and the same. Naturally we assume if existence itself is God that means Existence must have consciousness. Is it possible that whole existence has consciousness? Answer to that yes. Remember God is omnipresent means his consciousness pervades everything in existence itself. So that means he and his consciousness are not different from each other or separate from each other. Next question arises how come we do not experience it or know it? Answer is because of our limited senses and ignorance. Also we are living in lower level of reality. Our consciousness is not yet awakened to such extent that we xan percieve God's consciousness. Lets analyse further Animals also have consciousness but lower level than us beacuse of their physiological reasons. They are very strong physically but when it comes to intelligence we humans are on top. Because we have consciousness and evolved and sophisticated intelligence than animals we may have chance to get enlightened. What do we mean by enlightenment? Answer: realising the true nature of God's consciousness and self-consciousness. enlightenment happens in various steps 1) knowing: knowing through knowledge by reading scriptures, hearing from masters. 2)realising: experiencing through our consciousness. 3)comprehending: measuring that consciousness even though we can't do that. So What are paths to enlightenment? 1)Love and Devotion towards God. Path of the devotion is considered first step into spirituality. 2) self-realisation through meditation. This path is considered very tough path filled with all kinds of difficulties. So people choose their their own path to enlightenment. So naturally only enlightenment can liberate us all. Last and final question Does God belong to any religion? Answer: No God is just God. He propagated faith among humans but it's us humans created religions based on our faith and regional culture. So we humans must raise above religious identities and recognise the fact that we are all part of God or existence itself.

Anything, however great it is, if proclaimed without considering the place, times and context will prove fatal for society. Some of the gurus clearly lack this sense of reality and their own imagination is the only world for them. Undoubtedly Ramakrishna was one of the greatest sages ever walked on this land. However before he practiced other religions, he was already a realized being through Kali sadhana. No one should forget this.

There is no record to say he ate non-veg food, Here is the excerpt from the book Ramakrishna the great master: 13. *The behaviour of the Master at the time of practising Islam* At the time of practising Islam, the Master wanted, said Hriday, to take Muslim food. It was Mathur’s solicitous request only that made him refrain from doing so. Knowing that the childlike Master would not abstain from it if that desire of his were not at least partially fulfilled, Mathur had a cook brought, under whose instruction a Brahmin cook prepared food in the Muslim manner, which was given to the Master to eat. The Master did not even once enter the inner courtyard of the Kali temple while practising Islam, but remained in the mansion of Mathur situated outside.

Sufism is still widespread, it’s just declined due to fundamentalist Wahhabism, western colonialism spreading “modernist” ideology in Islamic world, and due to both Americans and Soviets trying to spread far right wing or atheist ideologies respectively in the Muslim world

Kapil Jindal, Ramakrishna Paramhamsa is the only person in Human history who experienced God using multiple pathways including Islam and Christianity. This is not his weakness, This is his strength, He provides proof for Bhagwad Gita's ( Central Hindu Teaching) Pluralism. God can not be partial to be available to only certain group of people and not the others. The day people of all religions realise this truth all the fighting in the name of religion will stop.

@@HinduAcademy Guruji, Islam and Quran have so many teachings which are completely against humanity and is grossly supremacist in nature. Although, I don't have any problem with the fact that there could be one supreme God whom we can will with different names. But, then how come a person like Shri Ramkrishna Paramhans ji delve in this ideology.

@@siddharthabajpai7575 Yes, I agree to @Siddhartha Bajpai and @Kapil Jindal, Abrahamic religion's ideology is fundamentally against Santana Dharma,- (1) They claim their God is the only God. Even imagining anything else is God is an inexcusable crime. Thinking Parents or Guru as God is also inexcusable Crime. But as per Sanatana Dharma, everything is God. We say "Matru Devo Bhava, Pitra Devo Bhava, Guru Devo Bhava, Athithi Devo Bhava". (2) They don't agree to rebirth, which is basics of Sanatana Dharma. (3) They have only one time entry to heaven or hell. Their ultimate Goal is to go to heaven and settle there (which is full of Hoors/Angels and Wine?!). Whereas Sanatana Dharma's ultimate goal is Moksha. (4) As per them, the judgement day will come only when everybody gets converted to their religion!! As per them Not believer of their religion goes to hell irrespective of your deeds! Whereas as per Sanatana Dharma what you get is as per your Karna. The results of karma can be immediate or continue to next birth. (5) As per them the idol worship is inexcusable crime, whereas in Sanatana Dharma both are acceptable. (6) As per Christianity everyone is a Sinner by Birth. Whereas as per Sanatana Dharma, everyone is divine by Birth. They have complete disagreement with Pluralism. So can't imagine in what way he could conclude their way also takes to same path!! This whole thing looks like fake story.

@@Cyclic_Universe, you raise points that i have also considered. My reflections are these. Attachment to ones own beliefs can be as destructive as attachment to any other type of maya. As such, question your our judgement and where it comes from. Fear and anger are delectable distractions from the truth. A path that embraces Pluralism makes no judgement on the road one takes to get to the truth, all that matters is what the atman has learnt. A true path of bliss leads us all to the same conclusions... Soham

This anecdote does not show that Ramakrishna was an evolved soul; rather, it exposes his appalling ignorance and gross irresponsibility for peddling a fairy-tale story and weakening Hinduism. It is said he had experienced Samadhi - a state of oneness with universal consciousness. And One who experiences this state, all his doubts are cleared and would not have any questions or a desire for the other quest. Then what is the point of him converting to another faith for experimentation and that too Islam? What was his objective? Did Ramkrishna ever care to understand the evil underpinnings of Islam, its extreme bigotry, and intolerance? Did he ever care to know the lifestyle and message of the Prophet and Quran? And by the way, if he had practiced Islam, then he should have eaten beef too. Haha!. In fact, if he was a realized saint, he should have known the truth by himself. Then the question comes if he knew what the Prophet and the barbaric agenda behind this religion why did he convert and was the purpose? Instead of exposing the evil and ignorance in Abrahamic faith, he converted to another faith, and all the more, he dared to lie that he got the same result? Many of the so-called realized saints in Modern India are turned into iconic models for leftist propaganda, and people have no courage to question. I being a devotee of Lord Shiva, never fear to question.-even shiva himself, and that is the beauty of Hinduism. And by the way, Sufis are themselves frauds who followed the evil plan of Islam, pretending to be liberal and tolerant. No wonder why Hindus have been taken for a ride in the past, and pathetically it continues to this day by these intellectual artsy-fartsy egg heads.

He practiced "Sufism" - not Islam. Sufism is the watered-down, spiritual side of Islam which has not much to do with Muhammad and his war companions. And if he tried this in a shariah law country, and then left the religion 3 days later, he might not have been able to tell the story...
