did give me alot of information for my first car. honda civic 1996 bigote ph16a. my mechanic did a top overhaul, was recommended to just replace engine for peace of mind but since im out of budget, they did their best to fix it top overhaul only. my car works perfectly fine.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, Buying a surplus engine needs a lot of paper works also before you can install it to the vehicle. It needs to have an official receipt from where you bought the engine and you have to bring the engine (I'm not sure on this one) to the crime lab for inspection just to make sure it didn't came from hot cars or it's not tampered. And yes, the cost on that will be on top of the surplus engine. So engine overhaul is cheaper than buying a surplus engine. Unless the engine replacement will be better than what's in it right now ;)

My car had recently went overheat.. The mechanic made a top overhaul.. But i notice the oil is decreasing now the carr when back to the same repair shop. The update are piston and cylinder liner repair.. Does it mean double trabaho.. That instead of top overhaul it should be full overhaul

Sir tanong ko lang po just to verify, lets say general overhaul engine ko (4JA1), once natapos napo how long will you keep the running running? naka idle lang po ba? watching other videos or even talking to some mechanics may nagsasabi na paandarin lang daw po ng few hours tapos pwede na kunin. ewan ko po ano talaga recommended. i'm from Cebu po, and so far i found a shop ni recommend ng kaibigan ko this mechanic ang papa niya may shop tapos nag tayo siya ng shop niya and went to TESDA as well. input lang ako Sir Sid, minsan mas mahal pa magpalit ng makina kasi nga hindi mo alam kung ano condition nung ipinalit mo. Bottom line non, magbubukas padin ng makina. Taspo bulaga marami din palang problema. I would suggest na kung talagang wala na sense i-overhaul yung makina, doon nalang magpalit.

Hello sir. Nag pa overhaul po ako ng sasakyan ko, mula nun ang pangit na po ng hatak ng sasakyan, namamatayan pa po ako ng makina, taas baba rin po yun rpm. 1 week palang naman po mula nung nagawa, normal lang po ba yun? Although nasabi naman po ng mekaniko na kelangan muna ibreak in pero Nakakatakot po kasi yung tunog nya pag nasa drive kaya nagaalangan po ako. Honda jazz a/t po sasakyan ko.
