It's possible that they weren't intentionally lying. Instead, it's likely that because they saw him around body guards they perceived him as being famous and because of that their brain is trying to think where they saw him from. Some may have lied completely to take a picture, but many may have actually believed, something like wait this guy is familiar where is he from. Not because he is or was familiar but because they thought so because of the perceived importance given off by the body guards. idk if that made any sense whatsoever, but point is It's not weird whatsoever, it's just Psychology.

It’s not that weird, it’s how people’s brain work. We’re actively trying to figure shit out so when they see a dude with a million body guards your brain instantly tells you that he is important b/c typically only celebs have that. So when he lied and said that he’s from whatever movies, ppl’s brain instantly went “Yeah that must be true. It only makes sense”. Our brains try to put pieces together.

they were clearly not bodyguards, at least not all of them. the first like 5 seemed like they could be bodyguards. but in the group of 10 and 50 there were clearly some people not bodyguards at all, they had the posture of an accountant or something. they were not communicating at all, and shouting that there is a really dangerous infant. they probably just hired a couple of bodyguards, like 6 or 7 or so and just filled up to 50 with just random other people with black clothes
