Yes, speed can do very intresting things, real metal bullets are only more resitant, harder and can conserve more energy with their weight, but if you shoot something soft at such a high speed it will aquire a almost liquid shape and behaviour so it's more like a neft jet than a real gun shooting nerf darts

Huh, so i guess it works just like an ordinary rubber bullet? (ie: non-lethal rounds) Interestingly, it kinda suggests that anyone can make their own effective rubber bullets, by combining a blank cartridge in the chamber with a breech-loaded piece of rubber. That's neat.

Really enjoyed this! I'd love to see this hit a raw piece of meat. Wondering what the velocity is and how much damage it would do. I am pretty sure with the low mass the impact would be similar to a paintball, but would love to know more of the data to calculate or see it! Nice work as always

The more warped it actually is, the more damage it's causing. Like a bullet going sideways, for instance. Larger wound channel.

This makes me wish someone would use one of those AR15/M16 Soda Can/Tennis Ball launchers and shoot a Nerf Demolisher rocket out of it. Device is somewhat spendy and replaces the barrel of the firearm. You then shoot a blank which propels whatever is in the canister out.

PRO TIP: cut the blue foam in 4 pieces vertically, like a discarding sabot, and put 3d printed plastic plates on the hole of the dart, so it gets more energy and discards much better giving the orange tip (the one that deals the damage itself)

Would to see you run it through a chrono to see speed. Also pretty sure dart actually comes apart inside barrel, and acts as wadding, and you are only shooting the tip. Would love to see an extreme high speed filming and see it extreme slow motion.

you basically made a 22. rubber APDS with sabot made with the blue foam (since a tiny part of the rubber tip does get glued INSIDE the foam it is technically APDS) it is not sub caliber tho but APCR doesn't fall apart mid flight and APCBC has no sabot... I would classify this as APDF (armor piercing discarding foam)
