In today's video, we will look at what happens in Story of Seasons A Wonderful Life if you just go to sleep everyday for two years in SoS AWL. This Nintendo Switch game is a remake of the Gamecube classic Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life game. Do you have to get married? Can you avoid getting the blue feather? Can you get divorced? Can your animals pass away if you don't feed them? Find the answers to these questions and more in today's exciting video.

They changed a lot of things to make them "less offensive." No cigarettes, alcohol, or tattoos. The bar became a cafe. The animals don't die. The homeless man has become a forest sprite.

I’m fine with the bar changing to a cafe, as I prefer having a way to refill my stamina that isn’t horking down wild plants or choosing between cooking or earning a profit. But not letting your animals die or even get sick? Consoquences for not keeping up friendships with NPCs? That diminished the emersion. -also like. we can literally neglect our livestock but can’t stay single/raise a child single? yeah okay sure.-

I guess Cecilia and Rock always being available to marry is a reference to how they were the easiest to marry in the original games. I wish animal death was still a thing tho. I remember it really impacted me when it happened to me and really showed there is a consequence to your action, as well as grounded the game in reality.

Ohhh but the Irony of ROCK of all people chiding you about the farm, when in the original game he tries gaslighting you into selling it and taking that money for himself in nearly every cutscene? …honestly you’d think he’d be ecstatic. Or totally clear you out with alimony in divorce court unless Takakura forced him to sign a prenups

YES! I know it's a weird thing to be happy about but since learning how they take away other more "adult" things such as the blue bar being changed into a cafe, (that still stays open late like a bar), I feared no divorce scenes. I vote for seeing some divorce scenes but I know I will be doing this myself. Especially since I THINK there are potential divorce scenes in each life stage? My plan is to sleep through the years. But in order to advance, I will say yes to one of those questions, and see if I can sleep another whole year before getting another divorce scene. I do feel bad for when my animals get dirty so every season I usually wash them once. Side note: sheep really are the best money makers. Low maintenance, and in my playthroughs, I can upgrade their quality wool to $4,500 to $6,000 within a season. And both males and females provide wool vs taking up a space for a bull. Thank you for sharing what happens when sleeping for 2 years. 😁

Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment! Yeah, in my let's play file, I have switched to raising sheep! They pay for themselves after just one sheering! They make you more money and you don't have to worry about getting them pregnant for milk all the time.

Huh, surprised that the animals don't die. They used to die in the original game and it was TRAGIC, especially if you got conned into getting a goat.

It's kind of annoying they took out some of the real life events like animals dying but I get why they make things happier.. I feel they do it because many see death in real life a lot and to see it in a game could cause emotional stress so they just wanna keep it all rainbows and sunshine 🤷🏼‍♀️

Um, well *spoilers* Nina still dies after year one... And (I'm pretty sure) you die at the end, so they definitely didn't take death out of the game completely, haha.

Yeah, I agree completely... it feels like we've gone backwards rather than forwards when you compare this remake to the original. Sure, there are a TON of great quality of life improvements, but why did they have to remove the darker aspects of the game? Have we, the audience, become infantile in these past 20 years? Are we desperate to escape reality and live in a world without consequences for our actions? I could go on, but I think you get the point... reality can be cruel, but there's beauty in that.

Gosh I have always been so curious what Rock’s divorce scene specifically is like. Because the vibe I kind of imagine for it is “hey I hate selling my soul to coorperate overlords as much as you do, but I think I realized we can’t BOTH do that??” with him, vs the other candidates I imagine them just being irritated you’re not working (especially work heavy ones, like Muffy). Like as a stay at home spouse myself I totally vibe with Rock but I also understand the two of us together wouldn’t be compatible in real life in the monogamous fashion the game provides xD sometimes you do need opposites

I wish they added more dialogue. Im kinda at that point where I could sleep away most days in year 4 and not miss anything. I wanted to do a second run but they took away more than they added. Just makes me want to go for another Trio of Towns or RF4 run.

It's interesting they have Cecelia and Rock are the default candidates even if you put no effort into relationships. I also liked the added option to totally mess everything up. Do you care about this farm NO NO NO lol. Absolute chaos I love it.

NOOOOOO NOT THE ANIMAL DEATH!!! I must sound like a complete psychopath, but I was really hoping for animal death >< I really think the idea of immortal livestock is way too weird. Especially since Wonderful Life has a bigger focus on realistic breeding, you don't want to keep popping out babies when the parents never die and they all take up your farm as it grows into a massive factory!! Aughh I'm so disappointed. If it were any other game I would be only mildly annoyed, but Wonderful Life is all about appreciating life because it is finite and temporary. What is even the point of ANYONE ELSE dying if our animals can't even kick the bucket?

The one upside is that selling other livestock no longer gives the rest of your animals bouts of depression, so you no longer have to feel bad selling off male calves or roosters. That was always incredibly sucky in the original game.

In the original male version it was Nami. I wonder why they changed it, because it kinda made sense for Nami because she is stand-offish, so she would potentially want someone who leaves her alone.

⁠⁠@@TheBlueEyedOriginalNo. It was always Cecilia who was the default if you never interacted with the bachelorettes. That being said, it would make more sense if it was Nami. She has a potential reason besides love to marry someone (being that she runs out of money to keep staying at the inn, so if she wanted to stay at Forget-Me-Not Valley, she’d either need to make more or have someone agree to let her stay at their place).

I was surprised to see that rock’s son had brown hair! I would love to see some experimentation regarding the “genetics” in the game - how hair eye and skin color may be determined in the kids

I know the skin color of your child is your main character's skin tone plus your spouse's skin tone! I can experiment and see if anything else changes.

I'm kinda interested in finding out what happens in the remainder of the game after year 2. Is it even possible to reach the end by sleeping it off? I'm also curious if speedrunning the game is doable

I'm curious of when you get to heaven mode do the seasons change or are you just stuck in one season the entire time. Never got to play the special edition back in the day and when i look it up there's not a lot of information. So im curious if they changed "heaven" from the special edition or if it's exactly the same

In this game you can “go to the city for six hours” to pass some time… But yeah sheep are nice because then you can go to sleep whenever you want. With cows, you gotta stay up at least until 5 PM…

Yeah I Would never try to get the divorce scenes because it would make me feel bad but the fact that I saw some comments of another video about this scene in the original game saying that this is good ending just because your character doesn’t die I personally think saying that is kinda stupid.

Your child definitely starts with preferences, but it seems to be decently easy to influence your child. I know you can show your child archeological works and she will ask, "Where did you get it?" and then you can say that you bought it from Van or that you excavated it yourself from the dig site. Both answers seem to push your child in one direction or the other. I'm not quite to the end yet though.

Rock’s hair is supposed to be dyed! They changed it in the remake because genetically it makes more sense to have his natural hair color instead of the blonde.

Cody/Gordy is the only one that's slightly difficult to court, the others are all pretty easy to befriend. You have to watch some of their heart scenes before they will accept the blue feather. I believe the earliest that they will accept a blue feather is Autumn, as most have heart scenes that don't occur until fall. If you have seen all of someone's heart scenes, they will also appear as an option at the end of year one, even if you don't give them a blue feather.

The game is rather forgiving. The only way to truly game over is to say no to Takakura or your spouse. You can say you’ll do better and just.. not, haha.

It's the same as SoS PoOT. Regardless of your gender or the gender of your spouse, there is no pregnancy, no talk of adopting a child, or anything like that. You just get a child and have to fill in the dots yourself, haha. However, your child is a mix of you and your spouse so I guess actually the child is biologically yours and your spouse. I guess it's in the future where they have figured out the science of how to make it all happen regardless of gender.

@@cydcruzz the story reason is that its a gift from the forest sprites/goddess which is why you are asked what you want (male or female) and you are given that by magic basically.
