If you ever spill water on your 💻 follow these steps and be fast to limit the damage: 1.Unplug it if it was plugged 2.Maintain the power button to force the computer to shut down 3.Position the laptop with the keyboard facing down if that's possible 4. If you cannot open it up and use a blow-dryer to dry it (ofc set to low temperature) leave the keyboard facing down like that for at least a day or two 5.Pray, your laptop's gonna need it

If you turn it off and remove the battery in immediately it will reduce damage but then you have to take it apart and dry out all the parts individually or they will definitely be corrosion

Thanks for this video, cus i got paranoid after spilling some coke over my laptop. When i spilled it, i wiped it off quickly and held it up so it wouldent seek into the keyboard and reach the motherboard, the computer doesnt seem to be doing anything wrong, so i think im safe

The ribbon cables that are connected from the keyboard to the screen is damaged and will no longer work until you pry open the laptop, find the ribbon cables, dry them (with a cool hairdryer for 3 minutes) and then restart the computer. And the really horrible sound was either coming from the fan bay, (which water was whirring with the fan) or the hard-drive. (also water whirring with the HDD)

Spilled an entire cup of black coffee on my Acer Predator the touchpad and the keyboard were drowned in that coffee. Before I could panic and go crazy I disconnected it from power, shut it down, turned it upside down, and cleaned it with a lot of paper towels. The entire surface was sticky so I had to clean it with hand sanitizer. Kept it inverted for 24 hours and used a vacuum cleaner to try and pull out the liquid. I did press the power button accidentally a couple of times while cleaning, the laptop was on less than 10% battery anyway. After 24 hours and after a lot of prayers the laptop did turn on and I stared at the screen fearing it would turn off instantly, checked the keys, all worked fine. Albeit, the spacebar got a little sticky, which I think can be fixed. I know I turned on my laptop too soon but I couldn't resist and had a gut feeling that I had done the right thing while cleaning.

I just spilled hot tea on my laptop, i'd say around 400ML, and it shut off immediatly. I unplugged everything, held the laptop sideways so anything that was inside the laptop got out, wrapped a towel around it to dry the outside as fast as possible, and now i'm holding it open for 1-2 days and i'm praying it still works. oopsie, i “accidentally” spilled an entire jug of water on my laptop

If you accidentally spill water on your laptop: 1. Shut it down 2. Remove the battery (if your laptop has a removable one) 2. Use a paper towel to dry the keyboard, screen or any other area that might be soaked. 3. Make a sort of ‘tent’ with your laptop, keyboard and screen facing down. Let the water drip out. 4. Open your laptop (usually all you’ll need is a screwdriver) and pull out the back plate 5. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING. Just use a paper towel and dab the inside. 6. Pour 500ml of silica gel onto the opened area. 7. Wait 10 minutes, let the gel absorb everything. 8. Remove the gel and let the laptop air dry. 9. Put the laptop back together, attach the battery and try turning it on.

i am here not because my laptop is broken, i am here because i am just curious what will my laptop look like if it was wet, guys the first thing u gotta do is u need to drain ur laptop, u may hang it or turn in upside down u need to take all of the water out as possible, and next thing u do is bring it to the nearest laptop repair shop in your place, just like if a person had an accident, he will be responded quickly and be rush to the hospital, in this case its also just the same to our electronics.

One time, I spilt water on my computer. Instant bsod and then my computer died. Thankfully, I was so lucky and my computer was fine. Also, it was even almost a full water into the motherboard. Tap water doesn't conduct enough current at 12 volts to create a hard short (it won't blow up your battery). You have no idea how ridiculous you look when you wear safety goggles for something like pouring water on your laptop. As for that arcing sound I heard, I think that was the water finally getting to the backlight power supply (which outputs about 1000 to 2000 volts of high frequency AC to ionize the gas in the cold cathode fluorescent tubes). It arced to the water and from the water too low voltage components, which fried the rest of the motherboard (including the low voltage backlight control circuits). This stopped low voltage power from getting to the high voltage backlight power supply, and that in turn caused your monitor to go off. Also with the rest of the mother board likely fried from the high voltage, your entire computer will no longer function.
