In this video, we'll explain what happens in 5 ceremonies in scrum: sprint planning, review, retrospective and daily standup. We'll also cover the agile Scrum framework and its ceremonies.
If you're new to scrum or just want to know more about it, this video is for you! We'll share everything you need to know in just 15 minutes, including what happens in each of the 5 ceremonies, the agile Scrum framework and why they're important. Finally, we'll finish up with a quick explanation of the PMP Scrum framework.
We'll cover the important details of each ceremony, and show you how they work together to help you achieve your Scrum goals.
If you're new to agile, or just want to brush up on your knowledge, this video is for you! By the end of this video, you'll know what happens in each of the 5 ceremonies in scrum, and how they help you achieve your team's goal
In this sermon, basically we plan what we are going to do in this sprint. We actually make sprint goal in this particular ceremony. How do we make that data product backlog, which is a list of all prioritised requirements by high value and high risk and from that product backlog? We make sprint backlog. sprint backlog is an important document that will tell what you are going to do in sprint. What you are going to do in this particular sprint when we put all the list of user stories in this sprint, a very important thing to understand when we are working with the sprint backlog. We make estimated velocity especially in the first sprint, we made the estimated velocity at how many story points we are going to cover. Let's say the story points will be 20 story points. And since it is the first sprint, so it is more of an estimation team will do this estimation. It's an important thing. That team will do the estimation how many story points we are going to do. So there's always negotiation team may say we want to do 20 story points. The product owner says no you have to do 25 story points. So scrum master facilitate that negotiation and most of the time what team says we will go with that. Or maybe we may reach a midpoint. So we teach aka this beloved estimated velocity, which let the user stories from a the high value high priority user story. Put it into the sprint backlog month. sprint backlog is made we show it to the client, the sprint backlog and sprint goal if it gets approved, which normally does so then the sprint actually stuffed sprint itself is one to four week of duration. Normally it is two weeks. Normally it is two week but generally one to four big one we don't normally go with a one week because it is very small time you cannot complete any thing. Four weeks is a long time. So generally IT sector has two week offs. So we have discussed so far what is sprint we have also discussed what is sprint planning what happens in sprint planning. The next thing is daily standup daily standup are sometimes called as daily Scrum is a status sharing meeting it's a status sharing meeting 15 minute reading three questions are on Saturdays. What have you done yesterday? What you are going to do today? Is there any roadblocks or impediments that you want to have done? What do you have done yesterday? What you're going to do today? impediments, any issues risks that you're going to face? All that team members sit normally or stand daily stand up sorry, so stand so let's say a b, c, d, e, f these are the team members Scrum Master is standing in between he asked him this person will share the status then this person and this this this and we try to sum it up in 15 minutes. If there is any issues. We don't discuss that issue in detail. Those team members maybe C and D as an issue. C and D can discuss that issue in a follow up meeting after the stand up. Stand up is only for these three questions, nothing more. Now normally, especially if it isn't co located, which is one of the tenants of a journal that we want our co located team. So we have our common area sometime called as war room in which basically information radiators are placed. Information radiators are placed like burn up Burndown Chart burn burn up chart, or burn down chart or task board showing the status to In Progress completed or even Kanban board which has Work in Progress limit. I'll make another video in which I explain these information radiators all four or five of them in detail, but for now. So in daily standup which is a status sharing meeting, we basically discuss the status and we say okay, what are the things in that project that we want to discuss? Okay, so status sharing meeting is basically daily standup or chatting. So now daily stand up is done. The next one is sprint review. Sprint Review is basically once the sprint is completed. We agreed as duration of the Sprint will be two weeks.
