Who is Dr. Ergin? Dr. Ahmet Ergin is an endocrinologist with a particular interest and passion for diabetes care. My hubby has been itching real bad for a few weeks the Dr say it could because of low kidney function, he put on hydrocortisone & benadryl, he says when he gets hot he starts scratching even changed laundry detergent to dye free,I pray it's not his kidneys

I just have to toot my own horn here. I can't express enough thanks for your videos. You are saving my life! You have taught me so much and I'm fighting hard for my health. Im only prediabetic but its enough to scare me. On Metformin my A1C was 6.0 i asked my doctor if i could go off of the meds and try on my own with diet changes. I'm so very proud to announce that after only one month with no diabetic meds my A1C is 5.4!

@@nowhereman6945 I just watched his videos and I also follow Flavcity. I went organic the best i could because its spendy. Cut out all soda. Only eat Ezekiel bread and my cheat days are potato chips fried in Avocado oil with a side of avocado on the side. I eat twice a day with my first meal around noon and my second around 7. For example: Ezekiel toast, avocado mashed up and spiced, and a fried egg (olive oil) three pieces of bacon or turkey bacon and a small serving of cottage cheese. Ive replaced all my butter with ghee and i only cook with olive oil or avocado oil.

Hello, around January I saw the Doctor and he alerted me that I have uncontrolled type 2 diabetes -- So I took action to change my diet and take medication to lower my blood sugar level. Prior to this last Summer I had dry red skin on or near my ankle; plus my feet had dark skin (purple like bruise color) on the sides of my feet. I tried to talk to my doctor but he said just focus on taking the medication and I am still concerned that eventuallly might have to amputate my feet -- scares me. So when my diabetes was uncontrolled, it did damage; but now that I have it undercontrolled (last test was like 6.0 mmol/L but before like 10-15 mmol/L) --- then my feet and lower legs should be sort of ok compared to out of control diabetes. I don't have neuropathy, and my feet don't go numb. Other parts of my body are ok, and skin is fine, just the feet and low legs. Could a toe fungal infection cause this as well? On my left foot the big toe is purple, and I am trying antifungul nail treatment but isn't working well, not sure about going to a nail specialist and unsure of the cost. About 4 years ago a friend dropped a big washing machine MIELE on my big toe and had to wait 1 year and half to grow back; maybe this caused my feet problems. But on my other foot (both feet) have these bruise skin color. Would high blood pressure cause this as well? Yes, I am also taking Blood pressure and Cholesterol meds also taking Gluberide and Metformin. Well thanks if you or anyone can help. This feet coloring concerns me and scared. I had to make some drastic lifestyle changes --- quit smoking, drinking pop, cut back on any sugar --- even don't drink regular milk since it has lots of sugar as well.

You have great information for diabetics. However, you basically approach difficulties experienced by people with Type 2 diabetes. I would appreciate similar advice regarding difficulties faced by patients with Type 1 diabetes. Case in point, how to prevent, and care for, skin infections at insulin injection sites. Also, a review of all of the insulins available and how they differ from each other so that a patient has more information with which to work with regarding which insulin choices will work better for them. Thank you.

Doctor, I have been a diabetic for 46 years, I tried to keep my insulin in check, my A1C is between 8-10. My question : I have sores on my scalp, sometimes they are like pimples but tender to the touch sometimes. Mostly appear on the top of the scalp, sometimes down below the center of the head. Have you heard of any scalp sores like this???

I had scalp sores when my diabetes was not in good control, A1C 8. When I got it in control the scalp sores disappeared, below 7. You need to decrease all carbohydrates & sugar, check all the food labels. You can not depend on insulin to correct your high carbohydrates intake. I am 74, been diabetic for 22 years.

YEP, Watch Beat Diabetes videos. You most likely are insulin resistant which is dangerous. Go low carb / keto diet.

I've had skin tags for years, before I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, during a check up a dr once mentioned metabolic disorder but was extremely vague about it. Never the less I have it now. I'm 55 and have been diagnosed for 1yr. My first A1C was 11+ and then dropped to 8's and my last was 6.5. I'm trying like heck to change the diet but it's hard. At the moment I've just started 16/8 fasting, not for weight, but to help curb the carbs. It's going well but skin tags are still not going anywhere. If they are related to the amount of insulin in my body then I'm struggling. I eat no more than 30-60g of carbs a day. I do try to keep it to 30-45g and I feel that I'm successful. However, I'm injecting 150u of insulin each day. With the fasting I've been able to get that amt down to 130u but it's not always successful. I'm on a pump and I'm now toying with shutting off my basal rate 1.7u/hr because overnight at about 3am my glucose numbers will go from 150 to over 200 by 7 / 8 am. I've been tested and my body is producing insulin. I'd like the skin tags to go away but I'm at a loss for steps to reduce insulin dependancy. I'm finding it difficult to get carbs completely eliminated ( as we speak my son's sitting here beside me with a big ole bowl of ice cream ). Anybody got links to a good Type II diabetic forum? One that has good active participants.
