We had one of our good friends, John Meschberger turn one of our optical tubes into a functional rocket. On March 19th, we traveled to the hot Arizona desert for for it's maiden flight and wanted to share the experience with all of you.
Meschberger converted a Quantum 150 carbon-fiber telescope tube into a high-powered rocket. Several cameras were present to capture the launch, including an on-board GoPro and a slow-motion camera inside a blast case. The rocket reached an altitude of 1,168 feet, with a maximum velocity of 297 feet per second.
The launch was very successful and we can't wait for another test flight!
