U ever engage a kv220-2 with the shielded? The 220-2 will practically never pen lol, rebalancing that pref MM kv.

shielded is so fkn slow, I have to double or triple check keyboard to make sure I'm pressing the right key lol, sometimes I think the side key for turning is broken 🤣

The balancing logic with this tank is unacceptable. It's like +10-15% to hull protection, mildly worse or at best even with Regaurds to turret protection, a nice bonus to HP. And that is the major buffs. Everything else statistically is shit, it receives a roughly 20% or so dpm nerf, arguably worse accuracy which really, is noticed by its lesser shell velocity. Accuracy penalty which I personally would rate as a drop of 10ish -15%. The mobility is horrific & to extreme... suffering what I'd guess to be like a 30% or so speed penalty collectively.

Only nice feature is it is a premium, so u may compensate for these drawbacks with greater gold ammo & use of combat rations.

Agreed, I get more effectiveness equipping a turbo to a vk 100.01p than I did equipping a turbo to this veichle. It's like 10% armor buff, but a 30+% mobility nerf regaurding top speed, acceleration, power to weight, traverse, terrain resistance... it's so fuking sluggish, good lord

@@hannahalexy for sure. u can compensate for its lousy dpm when engaging the standard kv1 with any fair degree of angling u put into effect. Similar to the 220-2 bait your enemy to shoot your hull, & hope u find a weak spot on the opposing kv or whichever tank

@@Judge_Dredd_ it's more so that this can side scrape against a tier 7 IS, neither. The kv 220-2 or the kv1 can. It has a 30mm plate running almost all the way across the 75mm side armor, making this a much better rank to play on a city map in a higher tier mm. That said, it is situational, and it does turn like trying to turn an oil tanker with paddles. Plus, even if you can side scrape in a t7 mm, you'll have to fire prammo exclusively, even those lack the pen. It's meh, but usable, but you're right, compared to a regular kv1 there's not much point in playing this one, to be fair!

I'd say the kv SH might makeup for it's great drawbacks by using a greater # of gold ammunition, as well as consumables made affordable due to its premium status

The shell velocity reduction factor given to this tank feels atrocious! Fully aimed shots miss consistently at any distance greater than spotting ring on the minimap. Furthermore shell velocity stays the same for apcr which sucks

@@Judge_Dredd_ The LVT is basically a Matilda with a weaker turret but can do twice the damage per shot.

Even a turbo doesnt feel sufficient. A turbo on any of my t8 heavies seems to have greater effect than equipping this shielded variant. Its armor only exceeds the kv1 by like 15% or so, but its mobility is oddly so much worse, like severely limited... it feels as sluggish as a kv3 but annoyingly not even comparable with armament.

That sounds like another overpowered veichle, the kv 220 has a kv3 hull, if its turret was top configuration of the kv1... it would be absolutely game breaking to the frequent matches which have tier 4. Your armor when angled would exceed the effective armor values of most tier 6 heavies.

Even some tier 7 heavies would pale in comparison, think of the tiger 1. Youd have armor values pretty much equal & likely exceeding heavies like the o-ni, king tiger, tiger p, IS, etc.

Youd need extreme deficits in all other aspects of tank characteristics & a unique MM feature preventing tier 4 games or alternatively, a platoon limiting factor of allowing one version of this veichle hybrid u described.

Kv-1 Shielded which trades a good chunk of dpm & some accuracy (especially shell velocity) for roughly a 10-15% increase with overall armor values as well as a nice bonus to veichle hitpoints. Additionally, the armor buff in the form of spaced armor obviously protects from HE rounds which is especially significant with those many games where your dealing with that match breaking artillery veichle being the leaf blower (nick name).

Lastly, the kv 220-2... a variant of the kv-1 which regresses in firepower & turret armor as it battles with a stock kv1 turret. The advantage however, is this heavy has god tier hull protection. Its hull is not identical to the shielded, not the above tier T-150, but the replicated hull of a fukn kv-3 at TIER 7! Added to this pref MM! Resulting in a heavy which when angled (provided your hull front is mostly covered by debris/building)... is an absolutely indestructible freak of machinery.

All in all we got the standard kv1 which is adept in armormament, excellent in firepower, with acceptable accuracy. Indisputably the superior tier 5 heavy which has two fairly similar variants. The shielded, an overall buff to its standard variant regarding armor & Durability. This subtype Carries with it a high penalty to mobility, accuracy & dpm. However the mild boost to protection is significant in equal < lower tier games, blocking a great deal more to those T4s & many T5s which already struggle greatly in successful penetrations to the tech tree kv. The 220 has a nearly identical situation, only differing by its weaker pen, & mildler turret protection compensated with its pref MM feature & notably its unbelievably tough hull armor.

I've been asking around here and on twitch for a week now, nobody seem to know lol. At least nobody answered it yet.

It existed in real life,unlike a lot of the tier 8 and above tanks that only made the blueprint stage...do your research before posting comments like this ;-)

So, how precisely do u make of this kv SH tank jerry? I like this 3rd kv variation, increased armor values & HP bump really fucks over the common tier 4 matches as those vehicles already struggle immensly with penning a fairly angled kv1 as is, so this slightly heavier variant, at least personally... seems to add up as u can straight up ignore the 4s and focus fire more dangerous threats without concern.

Another thing worth mentioning here is u may be capable of compensating for the shieldeds drawbacks by utilizing greater gold ammo usage in addition to expensive consumables now available due to the premium status aiding profit factors.

@@Judge_Dredd_ TBH I never played a single battle with any of the low tier tanks from the boxes yet. I got mad at the pretty transparent ploy of WG to make people buy more boxes so I don't play those tanks or buy more boxes. I should have spend my money directly on gold and premium days, I would have gotten a better deal. I'm still pretty salty about this. If you enjoy the tank, good for you though. Take care.

The kv Shielded I think requires more attention with your armor angling. Its hull is superior to kv1 as well as its turret as long as u dont allow enemy to hit the turret cheeks near mantlet. U can increase armor efficiency with its turret by looking roughly 90 degrees left or right giving that spaced armor ability for added protection.

You can compensate for its deficits by utilizing the profit bonus associated with premium status...this makes it more affordable to load & use apcr more, as well as those expensive consumables like rations

Just play it like the kv220, bait enemy fire into your angled hull while making an effort to snapshot before covering your turret which frontally is weaker than standard kv unless u make an effort to direct your gun towards the sides of your screen with enemy tank still in sight allowing that spaced armor to have optimized armor values.

The KV1 and the T150 are my 2 favourite mid tier tanks,nice to know this tank is not worth the gamble with the boxes :-)

Kv-1 shielded has greater spotting & (as your well aware)...better HP with greater armor values (for the most part) so u can occasionally compensate for its horrific mobility. Additionally, since it's a premium, players can use more gold ammo & pricier consumables.

Agreed, kv1 beats 220 if player simply aims to turret cheeks & u never get baited to firing into the 220s hull

However the kv-SH has advantage when engaging a 220-2. Reason being 220-2 struggles greatly with penning a fairly angled kv1 with gold ammo... now, with the Shielded variant which gains an overall 10-15% or so of added protection in most areas, the 220-2 will suffer in regaurds to non penetrations (more so than the preceding example)

I like the slight spotting advantage of the kv-SH as it feels like it can compensate for its slower speed with its greater ability to tank dmg as a result of greater hp & greater armor values with the notable perk of HE shell resistance due to the armor being shown as spaced armor.

Additionally, with its premium status... u might be able to makeup for much of its drawbacks with greater # of gold shells & superior consumables

The Pornvagn only accelerates a little slower than the god of tier 8, the Skoda T56 lmao

tornvagn is actually great if you play equal tiers or below, got around 7k bounces on a battle yesterday, the problem is that it melts against every t9 tank and above, got penned from an AE phase 1 standard round on the front turret, lucky shot or not :/

One tank is in T8, the other is in T5. Very different case

Your comparison seems totally disconnected here. A tier 5 vs a tier 8 for one, 2ndly the kv1 SH & tornvagn have pretty much the excact opposite types of gameplay. These two veichles u mention couldn't be further from eachother in relatability... the shielded has fairly mediocre/semi balanced factors of combat ability. The tornvagn is shity in every conceivable aspect of its various characteristics as it only excels in frontal turret armor & good deppression.

3rdly, the tier gap is not only significant with its overall power difference but, also the fact that one example is specifically a tier 5 which is the tier most tanks start to develope easily recognizable strengths & weaknesses, the 2nd example is a tier where veichle characteristics are extreme in their playstyle, as this tier really conforms a players behavior in T8 tanks as they are far more unique in shape & are easily recognized for their strengths/weaknesses.

T-34s(hit) is just nerfed t-34

Um not at all, what exactly do u mean with that statement? What does the t34 shielded have that makes it better than the standard variant? Your statement would make more sense if u swapped the two veichles in question with which one is OP & vice versa, XD

@@Judge_Dredd_ It has, or had very bouncey armor. Which is all you need at that tier. I won tournaments with it. The armor made just enough difference. Spaced armor on Thunderbolt is amazing too. I'm a sucker for spaced armor. What can I SAY? I did notice the KV 1 shielded sucked as compared to t34s.
