Haitians cannot govern themselves. All that Haitians know is how to revolt with violence when things do not go their way. Theirs is a culture entrenched in revolution as the only means to an end. The only solution is to airlift all Haitians from the island, place them in various African countries willing to receive them, and give the entire island to Dominicans. They would make productive use of it.

I don't understand why Haiti's situation is a surprise to anybody, This is a reminder: In 1994, The US sent Marines to Haiti and dismantled the Haitian strong Army of well over 100,000 men and women when you add the real soldiers and the Tonton Macoutes; on that same year, they imposed an arm embargo on Haiti that is still in effect. The vast majority of people in Haiti's government are put in place by an embassy in port-au-Prince, to defend their own interests. Haiti's failure is not a surprise to the informed people. To me, it's part of a plan well designed. What's the plan???

@@Official_Baba_yaga The war in Afghanistan was not urban but rather rural. There was a lot or urban operations in Iraq though. Under the previous UN mission in Haiti there was a lot of Brazilian troops who have extensive experience in urban operations in Rio de Janeiro, however this time it appears that most LATAM countries prefer to stay out of it.

Haiti is a failed country and the people living in Haiti unfortunately don't know they are also not well. After the Earthquake I was in Hiati and can tell you there is definitely some post-traumatic stress disorder running rampage through the citizens. It has been one trauma after another for the people of Haiti. Brutal 30 years of dictatorship, brutality from the Ton Ton Makuot, Coup after Coup, devastating earthquake, cholera, Presidential Assassination, failed election, Starvation, and lack of fuel to even power the city because The Haitian government can't pay their debt to the fuel company in the United States. Even Venezuela stopped sending fuel to Haiti. You can't fix the country without addressing the failed society.

You're so eager to make your point that you fail to realize that you don't know enough about the subject to do so intelligently. You've spewed out quite a bit of misinformation, although I must congratulate you for daring to jump in and accentuate your vast knowledge of the situation in Haiti. Two things can be true at once, and one of them is that you'd make more sense if you said nothing at all (Professor). “You can’t fix the country without addressing the failed society” WTF.

You seem to be an expert when it comes to Haiti. When the US show their murky face in 1915 coming out of the shadow they changed the countries system entirely first thing they did was to go straight to the Haitian bank and take the countries gold and then pretend it was theirs by right. Then they rebuild every department in the country and started putting puppeteers that were loyal to us interests and never about the people, when it comes to the 30 years of dictatorship it was backed by the us but with limits and that same time the us was also present in the DR. In Haiti, some of the puppet government prior to the Duvaliers were trying to do things that would help the population, one of those puppets Dumarsais Estime, started bringing firm to survey the land and help developing the agriculture, the US was not to pleased they set the population out and he was ousted, the Duvalier were brutal because before it was the puppet and also some people in the government had shadow from the us, which acted like an invisible hand Duvalier was against having to please the us so it started moving away from it slowly, then his son was not the brightest one in the field and let himself influenced by greedy people who were pretending to be loyalist since they started talking back to the Us which was also working behind the scene. Then 1986 happens Duvalier Jr was ousted. Now 1987 new constitution was made. The tonton makout were a paramilitary group like the SS in germany, Aristide came in 1990 with the chimeras and the gangs, what were their purpose? Under Aristide the Chimeras were the militant group and the “gangs” aka lavalas were armed branch of the chimeras that would go after anyone who were against Aristide, or if Aristide wanted something he would unlish them. Then he was ousted because many Haitian were tired of Aristide revenge repression killing people who were part of Aristide Lavalas group. In 1995, Bill Clinton brought Aristide back he destroyed the Haitian Army then build the Police National, who were made from former Chimeras and lavalas group and then he also reactivated the gangs. The Earthquake in 2010 was not the first in Haiti but nobody ever took earthquake seriously over there. Cholera was brought in by the UN. And it is not that the Haitian government cannot pay their debt to the US or Venezuela. US and Venezuela arent bffs in the American hemisphere and the US has more power over Haiti and since when haiti has Election the us intervene and also need to know if the elected person will work with the usa and in the interest that are convenient to the us and then the us make pressure on the electoral board to have that person become president, now that person had no choice but to serve in the best interest of the us and when the us wants to sanction Venezuela they call upon the current Haitian President and make pressure for him or her to sign against Haiti. When people who are outside of the system you will think that Haiti is a failed state which is right because it is what the outside world want people to see Haiti and the Bad Politician only do one think wait for America to dictate them what to do and how to beg. Now the Haitian diaspora is trying to get their country back. In Haiti there is something called the Core Group that decide who to be president and what they should do and in what way they should take the country. Nowadays Diaspora the Haitians that are out wants to return and they want the core group to stop inserting themselves into how Haiti should govern itself and who it should be in business with, as long as Core group or any countries insert itself into another countries affair, they will always be a failed state and be like Haiti.
