Great little lot there, I also would have liked to see the lad who owned that lot, I'd say you could have learnt lots from him. Like yourself, I fix things and modify old tools where needed, today I did the wishbone and brakes on a fiat panda, much thinking involved when the brake pins were siezed solid and the R clips turned to mush, needing to be ground flat and drifted out with a ground down hilti nail 🙄👍🇮🇪 Hope ye are both well, you are dropping hints of something stirring in the camp.......

Good for you 👍, I got my dads old toolbox and it includes a few items he made because he didn't have much money, the amount of time he spent in the shed and nobody knew exactly what he was up to, I'm the same myself, radio on, cup of tea regularly and the time just flies We are the last generation who will probably be able to do anything for ourselves as the next gen would rather buy something new or get someone in to do the simplest tasks, they don't know what it means to have absolutely nothing 🤔👍🇮🇪

I worked at Christy and Norris, Broomfield road chelmsford in 1984, in the engineering machine shop. If i'm correct they merged with Hunts of Earles Colne January 1985. My fore man was Ron Barford. They were known as process engineers, meaning they made industrial flour mills, The X mill, Sturdevant rock crushers, clinker grinders for coal power station and other specialised machines. As mentioned else where Christy Electrical, which had already closed when I was there, made, as I was told, flood lighting for stadiums and industrial switch gear. A happy place to work.

Well now, you got some right kelter there! Anyway, Christy and Norris used to make hammer mills for grinding corn, or in our case specifically, wheat and barley. We used to make and mix our own pig feed back in the '60s '70s and '80s and ran two Christy and Norris mills which blew the meal directly into the mixers.... The flour, which to us was just a byproduct, was blown into a collecting bag from the cyclone separators on top of the mixers. You probably could have used the flour for culinary purposes, but ours always went back into the pig meal. I couldn't really say what else they made, but Christy and Norris were still going strong into the 1980s, and possibly still are. The mills had plenty of wearing parts, and animal feed is extremely abrasive - we would regularly replace the hammers, the screens and the blowers. The mills were quite small, but damned heavy, about the same size as a large workshop air compressor, with the mill and its motor mounted side by side on a single bedplate.

You could have put the light board on the pile of wood by the driver's door, or nearby depending on cable length, watch while operate, or was it mancave mindset they had to be at the back? 😁 Anyway, keep making the videos, we all collect crap and don't throw away, even worse enjoy watching someone else's pile of it.
