I'm glad you chose to do this video. I have a Harbor Freight version that performs less than stellar. I could see several of your mods could help my blaster give me better performance. I especially like your wand aerating media before the gun. Media plugging up in the uptake tube is a huge problem with mine. I deon't know if youu can get it in your country but I use "diamond dust", sold by HF and it works well. In a pinch I go to my local box store, Lowes, and buy the 70 pound bags of playground sand. It works well but is very dusty. Now I've got an excuser to install the dust extractor, eh? Excellent video. Now I have to watch it again so I can take notes. Thanks!

I think your mods are really good, the essential is the large vacuum extraction, without that you can only blast for a few seconds, the other thing you did not mention is the size of your compressor, these things use a huge amount of air, and you need at least 10 CFM to keep up with them, although you have the vacuum take off I think it would be a good idea to wear a good mask, there is a lot of fine dust that gets passed the glass screen, are you using glass beads or grit? The glass beads are really good for cleaning aluminium parts. Stay safe! Chris B.

Please make sure no machines with bearings are in the area. No matter how well you try to contain the media dust, it will escape and destroy any bearings that it gets into. Lokks like you have only a press in this room which should be safe. Also, stay with the alumina. Glass beads shatter and create glass dust, that will lacerate nasal and lung tissues. Glass bead is best done outside with full respirator. It has given me several bouts of pneumonia before I became much more careful, and finally switched to alumina.

I think you might have been better with and acid bath than the sand blaster Dana. But you need a swivel on the end of the hose at the bottom end of the blaster nozzle so the hose will have more flexibility. But good luck with your new purchase and thanks for the video. Cheers 🙂

I made it from regular water pipe. 1"bsp elbow, 1"bsp straight barrel, 1"bsp to 1/2"bsp reducer, 1/2bsp to 15mm hose tail. The air inlet is a 1/4"bsp isolator valve that I drilled and taped into the straight barrel. Google, blast tank metering valve for pictures.
