We call the tiny cabbages "Brussels sprouts" in Canada. No idea if they're actually from Brussels or not 😅 I like to roast them with some olive oil, garlic, and shredded prosciutto ham, at about 190°C (375°F), until the ham is crispy and the vegetables are browned. The little onions look like “pickling” or “pearl” onions. And while you can pickle any onion - usually sliced before pickling, these little ones are pickled whole. The season for them in the UK is from October through January and they are part of a “Plowman’s Lunch” at a British pub. The plate will contain pickled onions, cheese and bread washed down with beer. In France, you will see them used as you do, as part of a braise or stew. The tiniest ones can be cooked and served as part of a creamed onions and new potatoes, or onions and peas, or all three in creamed peas onions and new potatoes.

This being said, I am so impressed on how you responsibly budget, clean, dress, creatively cook, stroll through Tokyo with an easy heart and mind. It is nothing less than refreshing to witness. These traits should be passed on from parents or mentors to children or student, and the world seems to be drifting from this.
