What I Bought at A Pokemon Card Convention in 2024 for Investment

This past weekend was the Toronto Sports Card Expo and one of the most popular trading card games there was Pokemon! Here’s what I bought for investment purposes at this convention! It’s a mix of both sealed and singles. Some of them likely won’t move in price for awhile and others might see some movement north sooner than later!

i was there as well, picked up a psa 10 moonbreon and psa 10 espeon alt art, lost a binder but ended up finding it later during the day, all was well and it was an amazing convention !

for the pokeball tin, the code on the bottom gives you an idea of the contents. The date on the plastic wrap isn't accurate, the 2023 tins say 2018 with XY and Sun and Moon, but they don't contain them. I think yours was G18 which is an old code that should have 2 Sun and Moon and 1 XY pack. Specific packs can vary per code though, as they will reprint them once or twice.

Ah okay that makes sense! I appreciate you letting me know and informing me on this! Fingers crossed there are older packs in there but either way I suppose the sale is done!

how are you investing if your buying at market? huh should have bought everything from one table and ask for a discount but i mean there isn't going to be huge returns on sleeves at like 90% lmao or the tin (which i thought was closer to the $50-55 range but perhaps that is near 70%)

Hey there! I did purchase all of these at below market! Also, investing is based around holding long term to see the values appreciate, not necessarily on how great of a deal we get, but I do like the suggestion of buying everything from one table! It’s worth a thought for next time! Cheers!
