Great video! I'm not super familiar with prog; I do enjoy listening to it, and I especially enjoy being turned on to new music so I have added some of these to my Spotify playlist for today. People do take things too seriously and a lot of people do not understand sarcasm at all and they know they don't understand sarcasm and yet still knee-jerk respond with serious answers without even asking themselves if they could have misinterpreted? It's kind of pathetic and also hilarious at the same time a little bit? Anyway, love you and love your channel. ✌️💜🎶🎶🎶

Another great video, Richie. I have a few of the albums you reviewed. Eno and Fripp are so phenomenal apart and together. Big fan of that Procol Harem album and of King Crimson. Also Emerson, Lake and Palmer. I love how very innovative talents evolve and morph through the years. It might be interesting to see you do a video about an artist and how they transited or influenced subsequent artists or groups. Brilliant Richie - loved the end. I saw ELP and Yes in the early 70s and had all of their albums, but when The Sex Pistols blew me away a friend and I got pissed one night and smashed them over our knees (along with those by Genesis and Floyd). These days I find most of ELP and more than half of Yes unlistenable.

Your comments on Soft Machine made me think of Gong, which started out very prog, but eventually evolved to be much more jazz influenced. The irony about Thick As A Brick is that it was intentionally written to mock prog, and yet it's considered a prog classic. I agree that Going For The One is a great return for Yes. I want a mono pressing of Piper At The Gates of Dawn. I really like In The Wake of Poseidon, an underrated album. But I totally love the songs you hate from the debut, lol.

Vinyl Richie some people get bent out of shape over music lists like they have been slighted personally because it didn't mesh with their tastes. Takes me back to guys arguing about who is better Page or Blackmore and how hysterical ( but funny ) it could get. So yes some people take it really seriously ( especially the progers, & others as well ). But we are talking about one of the highest forms of art, music, and passions run from absurd to eloquent and you friend are most definitely in the latter.

Interesting prog perspectives Richie to which I can see your points. Good choices on Yes, others and why's. I fell asleep to 'An Index of Metals' which manufactured a desert heatwave dream for some bizarre reason. My punk tastes walk a finer line than your prog. There's prog I even bend the rules on like Hawkwind though it's more space rock like The Pink Floyd. Colosseum is a bluesy form that I like and Chris Farlowe completes the impact. Procol Harem has yet to grab me. You may like Supersisters' first 2 better. Why a bedtime lullaby when '21st Century Schizoid 'Man', 'Cat Food' and MAGMA offer more edgy excitement, right?
