I've seen a lot of people praising the Kobra 3 all over KZfaq and Facebook, and my experience has not reflected that. This is my honest opinion about the #anycubic #kobra3 with ace system. If you still want one after watching this video, feel free to grab one at the link below from amazon or anycubic. Some links may earn commissions.

Thanks for sharing, you've done a decent review and mentioned all the weak spots of kobra 3, but to be honest, I wouldn't say that it's a bad product. I just recently got my Kobra 3 and it's a steal. At this price point I expect some amount of jank from a 3d printer, but so far it was way better than my previous kobra 2 pro. There are many things with their printers that require you to take a deep dive into servicing and setting up 3d printers, instead of just printing your stuff. For example, from watching your video, I think your printer could use either an x-axis gantry tramming or leveling the bed. Also, print speeds are mostly marketing wank, if you are not printing a high volume of commercial stuff, go with the slow/quiet mode. The prints will be way more consistent. Multicolor prints are notoriously wasteful, which is true for most of multicolor 3d printers, since purging the hot end every time costs a lot of filament. One undeniable major pain point is the software side of things. Anycubic slicers do the job, but they are very lacking in options. You can get better results if you set up stuff properly with orca, but then you are forced to go with USB drives. The whole anycubic cloud thing kinda sucks honestly. And that's where I hope to see some improvements over the next months.

I did the early bird special. I started with setup and leveling and tried a test print that came on it. It doesnt adhese the first layers very well and if it makes it half way printing without slinging prints around, it does a major layer shift and drags the pringt around. I didnt get my camera and I havent been able to print since day 1 and now it just sits. Contacted Anycubic and nothing.

The Kobra 3 does have an auto leveling and claibration and now they have updated the firmware which I think re-levels it before every print. You can also turn off the purge tower and set the purge lower to stop a lot of waste , but it can cause colour bleeding

this is the exact vid I was looking for. I have a Bambu A1 mini, A1, and a P1S. Placed an order for the Kobra 3 combo because it looks nicer and is cheaper than the A1 combo, on July 1st. To this day, they still hasn't ship it. I just canceled the order and got a refund. Then placed an order for another A1 combo. I don't want to have to deal with a machine where I have to calibrate and adjust stuff to get good prints. The Bambu just makes good prints on its own.

You mentioned the camera, prepare for more disappointment. I got mine, also shipped separately from the printer and filament. It's the lens, board and cable, you have to print the enclosure. It goes underneath the left side of the x-axis bar close to where the cable and filament tubes go through on the side. You'll see the circle and rectangular holes in the metal bar there, that's where it connects.

@risraels
@risraels 24 күн бұрын
@@IdiotCraftMan I'm doing my first print with the camera after printing the housing and installing it. It looks like real-time monitoring through the app so far, and the refresh rate doesn't look too bad but the quality isn't great, but that's as expected...I don't see any recording option in the app, unfortunately. It's a bit odd because to use the camera, the lights on the printhead are disabled, so the image is pretty dark, though the camera has lights on it but they're not on...unsure if mine is defective (wouldn't be surprised) The mobile app doesn't show an LED option but the anycubic slicer workbench section does, but it's not selectable. Also if you try to view the camera from the app and anycubic slicer, one will timeout, not a huge issue, but I thought it was interesting. Also haven't experienced any of their ai sensing abilities for the camera, so I can't speak to that. I have only tested it via Wi-Fi so not sure how the image would do over cellular.

I hope they get it all sorted out quickly. I definitely don't want to be tied to their slicer for the multicolor. They have to make it compatible with other slicer if they want to sell them. Seems like the bwmbulab a1 is just way better for the money. The kobra3 resembles a lot like the kobra2pro hardware wise. If they can get their multicolor to work on other printers, than that's a big plus. Otherwise, bwmbulab a1 is better for the money.

I just like the p1s. I put it together, turned it on and it immediately printed something which looked pretty damn good. As you know it does all of its own bed, leveling and calibrations. That's too bad about this printer but then again this is cheap and this printer is also probably rushed to market.

With stock settings running side by side, they finished at roughly the same time, with the kobra printing much worse. I haven’t been able to run side by side multi color prints, because the kobra keeps messing them up. So for me, it doesn’t matter if it can go faster, if it can’t finish a print.

You mentioned that the Kobra 3 doesn't come with any sort of auto leveling or auto calibration. That is false, as it states it directly on the Anycubic website that it does. I'm racking my brain on which to buy and that piece of false information almost made my decision.

It has the options to run those on the machine. What i was saying is that it doesn’t run a full calibration before each print like other machines do, which has caused print issues for me.
@MelchiorumJS
@MelchiorumJS 23 күн бұрын
He said that Kobra doesn’t run it when starting a print, not that it doesn’t come with it. He was talking about printing speed, and the point was to contrast the fact that Bamboo runs the levelling every time and Kobra doesn’t. Later on he explicitly says he ran the levelling, so obviously it does come with it.

Aesthetics man it's for the 80% of people that are going to use the cloud and that way there's not dust in other objects that go in there. Regardless it's nice to see that someone is being somewhat critical but putting something together is actually better so you understand a little bit more about the machine. Instead of always having to contact support.. You're layer shifting has to do with your z-axis belt being way too loose. I mean it's a turn of it now it's not rocket science. Aurora tech put it together no problem had no issues so I don't understand because you did not like that you're to put together that you're going to pick at a company that literally is the reason why Bambu is cheaper now.. home the z axis. Along with a level calibration but usually it is not many people know to just home the z-axis. It seems like you just want your viewers to applaud you for putting it together properly. Also orca slicer exactly is bambu like all you have to do is transfer your bambu profile. And that is not true because you can use and fill flush within orca to eliminate waste. You also paid 415$ no shipping

Yes the belts needed tightening, Which I did before printing and all that. I have no problem with putting together a 3d printer, I have about a dozen of them, most of which had to be put together. The whole point was saying that this machine(in my experience) is not as beginner friendly as many others on the market right now. There are more and more people buying 3d printers for their kids, or who may just be wanting to get into it to experience something new. From my experience, this has not been a beginner friendly printer, as I am still having issues with it. That being said, I love the company. Anycubic has been in direct contact with me to resolve the issues that I have been experiencing, as well as fixing issues they have been able to replicate on their end. I'm hoping that I will shortly be able to put out a video about this working correctly, but so far, I stick by my statement, that this is a machine for an experienced printer, who doesn't mind tinkering with this machine.

Someone who is having a belt tension problem and then consistently accuses Z offset shouldn't ever make any reviews. Ever. If you see other Kobra 3's printing properly and yours is printing very not proper, that is a you problem or you have a dud. This whole Bambu Blower Cult just makes me want to get out of 3D printing. You see the same issues with their products but never the shame, only hand waving. It's as if you have to pay in the thousands for a 3D printer in order to not feel inferior. Bambu has really made the space such an elitist wasteland.

Thanks for the information. I had issues with both z offset, and belt tension. When anycubic contacted me, they were able to replicate some of the issues i was having on their side, and are actively working to correct it. I’m more than happy to discuss issues with bambu printers as well, which I have. That being said, when they fix the issues on their end, i will be posting an update video. I’ve also made several videos giving credit to much cheaper machines being able to keep up with bambu printers, and try to give helpful information about my experiences. If you want nothing but glowing reviews for anything that isn’t a bambu, then my channel isn’t for you. I give all the machines that i test a fair shake, and discuss what i do and don’t like, and the things that i did wrong. Cuz there’s a good chance that if i did something stupid and wrong, someone else out there probably did too.
