Great explanation of plantains! Until recently, I only had ripe ones pan fried. Great to learn about the amazing diversity of options!

Afia love your vids as always 💕💕 I was wondering if there was a deeper meaning behind the background song, it's always in your videos so I just associate with you

I was reading the tatale recipe - palm oil is banned in the EU, what other oil would you recommend to use? So glad I've found your channel xx

I am not sure it is because it is literally in everything. I know a lot of Ghanaians living in Europe who purchase red palm oil from African stores

trying to switch to plant based and away from animal proteins. my friend can't have fried foods. is there a way to make a baked version of the tatale? Also I live in a food desert, everything has to be ordered online and it is expensive. I have 2 types of berbere spices, egusi seeds which was super expensive and red palm oil. are there any more common spices that I can use in place of say long pepper. I am still trying to find a cheaper source for ground fermented locust seeds to try it out. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Baking the recipe is actually called something else and I will share the recipe. As for the spices, I always have details in the blog post. I typically also use spices used in Indian cooking, which are certainly more accessible :)
