My dogs always eat better than us humans, in the his house. They get in-date eggs with shells (if eggs are out of date, keep them and stick them deep under any plants/fruit or nut trees/herb bushes etc, alongside banana skins), as well as raw meat. The reason I give them such a variety of foods (natural uncooked fruit, veg, rice, etc) is because of one thing.......if you they went stray, they'd need to find their food, and when was the last time you saw a dog sitting around a campfire cooking their dinner? So a variety of cooked and raw foods is ideal (raw is better, but don't inhibit your dog's fundamental nature as well. If you hey want to go after mice or other vermin, let them. Check up on what their characteristics were a cross of (at least a pedigree, or 2 breeds or more), and you'll get an idea of what their behaviour may well be.

@Hyun Kim I find that the value of so-called "real food" is a highly overestimated, our family for example would buy canned and bagged dog food for our purebred Weimaraner, who had constant niggling health issues and our vet agreed was one of the most tempermental dogs he ever had as a patient, and he lived well beyond both of our expectations. Of course Kane is a wolf, so I would not buy pet store food for him either, and our dog did not eat the cheapest brand or anything like that, but these dried pellets are indeed made from real food. It's like calling a Lara bar or granola bar "fake food" just because it's smaller bits of food chopped up and pressed together.
@fishxii3 жыл бұрын
@Hyun Kim why do they make dog kibble then? is it to feed the cats? it has the proper nutrition the dog needs. and you can buy higher quality dog food too. if your vet is recommending you to feed your dog high quality dog food do you go and feed it sweet potatoes and some other vegetables?
@CrizzyEyes3 жыл бұрын
@Hyun Kim I mean, sure, you can just ignore the case study I just offered proving that I take care of my pets adequately while pretending to laugh like a smug prick, but I do eat granola and Lara bars, so I don't really see your point. Wolves do eat vegetable matter, but not nearly as much as omnivores have to to get the vitamins we need from our diet. Similarly, deer have been seen eating meat (rarely) and probably munch on insects from time to time, but they don't eat nearly as much meat as omnivores have to to get the nutrients we need from that.
