What a sweet son you have. You all seme like very wonderful people. My family does not do minimalist gift giving for Christmas, Easter, or birthdays. We do what works for us though. If something stresses out or doesn't work for our family we change it or get rid of it. We have a family meeting on this every year. Another book series your son might like is The Inheritance Cycle series. It is 4 books total, but they are really good.
