I am new to your channel but I can tell you are an amazing mom and Landon is so lucky to have you both... loved the little play room too... I can tell that you really love books...lol... my son is older, a teenager in fact, but we still buy him books every Christmas.... he got 4 this year...lol.. rotating toys is such a great idea too - especially for babies and toddlers.... I think I will check out more of your videos.. I hope Landon had a magical Christmas morning.... My favorite part of Xmas is watching my kid open his presents (ones I carefully chose for him).. so many parents don’t spend enough time playing with their kids... it’s so Important to be really know your kids.... my son is an only child - so I spent countless hours playing with him and teaching him...and just having fun...

The playroom is a dream. You are so lucky to have a spare room to have a dedicated playroom. I have a 6 month old baby and now I understand how important play is for his development and learning I especially want to follow the Montessori way but I have a TINY house (only 4 rooms in total minus the bathroom) and only have a corner of the living room to dedicate to it. I know that's more than some people but boy does it get me down seeing such beautiful playrooms online. This is by no means a negative comment I just feel like I'm having a tough time at the moment giving my baby what he needs after a very tough birth and pregnancy during a pandemic so Im having to express it here, I watch all your videos always have done. Its just funny that before I had my baby I would watch your motherhood videos and think how lovely they are and now they just make me feel bad (not your fault at all its just funny isn't it how having a baby can change what they mean to me and how I know can't help but compare to all the wonderful internet moms I see) I aspire to be a mom like you xxx

Hi. I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through a tough time with parenthood right now. This pandemic is definitely not easy on anybody especially parents a little ones. Don’t ever doubt yourself as a parent. One thing that I learned very early on is not compare yourself to anyone. I would do that early on out of habit and it would make me feel so gross inside. I learned that I am the best mother that I possibly can be for Landon, and you are the best mother for your little one. Our house is not large either. Before we have the playroom we were just play with all of his toys in either his bedroom or our bedroom. I am very very fortunate to have an extra space to make into a playroom, however although it is really nice to have it is not a necessity. :-) to be honest your child doesn’t care about all the different toys here she has, they just care that their mom loves them, as I’m sure you do more than anything in the world. Your baby is so lucky to have you

Also. Because I am reflecting on this comment a lot, please always remember that you’re only seeing a very small window of somebody’s life on the Internet. I lose my cool, I’ve spent countless nights crying in the bathtub because motherhood is so hard, I’ve literally cried myself to sleep some nights, and I even had to go to therapy for a couple of months after having Landon. I struggle ALL THE TIME with finding the perfect balance. There is no such thing as a Pinterest mom. They don’t exist ♥️ you’re doing a GREAT job !

@@themissalliecakes thank you Allie I’m so grateful for your reply I know everything you’ve said is true. It’s just so hard to remember sometimes that everyone has bad days. The pandemic has resulted in no other mom friends for me as all the classes and clubs have been cancelled (&none of my existing friends are moms yet) so I just don’t have any other newish moms to bounce this off. Again I’m the last person who would want to make you feel bad but your replies have helped me a lot it just takes someone else to say hey motherhood is beautiful but super hard too & never picture perfect no matter how it looks online! Thank you ❤️❤️ have a beautiful holiday to xxx

We LOVE Melissa and Doug toys and will have a few of their items under our Christmas tree too. I so wish I had heard about Loverly when my kids were younger. They look like amazing quality toys!

I also got my 3 year old a two sided art easel. My oldest asked for a play kitchen so we got her that, and it came in, and I'm glad it doesn't have the image in the box as she doesn't even know we got her that. I like how you have his play room set up.

Doggy didn't like the popping book lol Cute items you got... I like that you didn't get a bunch of toys but a lot of things for him to do. I would have preferred that as a child... to me, toys got boring, but games and crafts... those were where I had a blast and would play with them forever!

I have 3 boys. They are 1, 3 and 5. This year we are taking a minimal approach to Christmas presents. My boys have so many toys that they don’t even play with. So Santa told me he’s getting them one big gift they can share(a soccer net). We got our 5 year old a tablet. Our 3 year old is getting a bike and our 1 year old is getting a Spider-Man quad. They will all get their own soccer ball and a few little stocking stuffers but that’s it. I completely agree with not giving kids too many toys. I learned the hard way that at least with my boys they just get overwhelmed with so many toys and don’t actually play with them.

i really really love the minimal approach. I love my nieves and nephews more than anything but I have witnessed with them they have SO many toys and dont play with 9/10th of them. I like the minimal appoach as well as rotating their toys out as a way to always keep them engaged. those are some great gifts you just mentioned :) your little loves are going to be so excited to get them :)

I just saw on their website a countdown to Christmas wooden tree, so cute🎄 I also would like to recommend Hape wood toys, if you haven’t heard of them but also I highly recommend Fat Brain Toys, LOVE this toy company 🥰🥰🥰

My husband and I haven't bought a single thing for our daughter lol. She's 2 years old and the only grandchild on both sides of the family so she's absolutely spoiled rotten. There's no point giving her anything from us when a.) She doesn't understand and b.) Is already getting so much. Maybe next year we will start buying her stuff 😂

our goal is to build our forever home within the next 3-5 years. I love this house we are in right now more than anything, however we would like a little more room, especially if we plan on having another baby soon :)

Becareful with the mess free markers they still can make a mess we had one get caught between a piece of furniture and the wall and it stained the wall and the piece of furniture and we ended up just throwing out the furniture

Hi. When my children were young when it came to Christmas they received three gifts each. Baby Jesus received three gifts. My children did not deserve more than him. This is just my opinion nothing more. Please know I mean no harm or offend anyone. This is how I was raised and my Mother and Grandma and great grandparents. Just sharing family tradition. I am a Grandma to two grandsons. I don’t know if my daughter follows this tradition. 💜
