Stay strong you can beat the depression. I've struggled with depression most of my life and what helps me get through it is not letting the depression catch up to you. Get out meet people go on walks or work out. I find talking to strangers is some times easier then talking to close friends. Best of luck to you and stay positive and always remember whatever your going through will pass and you will overcome it.

Jonny, Every video I watch of yours I feel like I have so much to say to you. You are such and incredible human being. If I'm being honest, I'm left in awe that someone like you exists. You can and do, do it all. Surfing, jiu jitsu, cliff diving, cooking, the list seems endless but then a whole other list exists of what a truly good person you seem to be as well. Well done, sir! Keep up the good fight and the hard work that goes with it! This might just be my favorite video on the internet. It has action, it has humor, it has encouragement, and it has heart. As a teacher, hearing stories of small actions leaving lasting memories helps center me and remind me to not get swept up in the chaos and paperwork that being an educator can bring, but just to remember above all to show my kiddos they are loved, they belong, and they can come to us for a pep talk, food, or whatever else they need. I'd love to hear more about your life, if you are willing to share. Each story you tell, each adventure you bring us on, I know you are changing lives for the better be it in the form of joy, education, hope, or encouragement!

I remember when I was in school (god, I sound old, I'm only 28 😂), it was a total 180 on what you've described; most of our teacher's sucked the life out of us. They would never have encouraged this sort of lifestyle. Are you sure you're a teacher?....

@@olidoran2485 I'm so sorry that was your experience! I work at a school with around 45 educators and we all care very much for our students and their individual and collective well being. I wish your teachers had been the same way. I once saw a quote that said "Be the adult you needed as a child" and it has led me well so far...I hope you have found your spark again, beyond the walls of the classroom, if not, I hope you find it soon!

I had an adult like that in my life, thankfully, although she moved to Fla (from Massachusetts) towards the end of my teens & boy do I still love and miss her all the time. She's had a rough life, but even still she was ALWAYS there. She actually turned to God quite a while back and always says to us now (and mind you, I'm in my 40s now & still will have a chat W her and she always said I can't offer you much more than my experience and this I can tell you, as long as you don't give up on yourself, you'll get through it I promise you. And she'd also encourage me to turn it over to God (now, not when I was a teen, she'd just listen and always tell me not to give up, because it will pass, she'd promise and she was right. My step father was ridiculously hard on me growing up and she understood that, thank God) bc He will never give up on me either. Every kid needs someone besides their parents, that believes in them. Kids who have even decent parents know parents are bias and they kind of don't have a choice to love us, lol, but when another adult they came to trust says something similar, well, that other adult doesn't owe us anything, so they just may be right. Keep being that other adult. I promise you, lol, they are listening. They may not heed your advice right away, but it's still in there and when they are struggling or even get through, they'll think back and remember those adults who were there for them and hopefully also be that adult to some kid that needs it. 😁

Sorry to hear about your health scare glad you doing better. As someone who suffers from a chronic illness with no cure just surgery and meds to lessen the pain I learned to adjust to life with it. My mom's coworker went to the UPS store and parked kinda badly because she was kinda in a hurry. Someone parked next to her and intentionally hit her car and cursed her out because of her bad parking job. She looked at that man and said "God bless you, have a nice day." She came back to her car and there was a note on her windshield. It said something like "sorry I hit your car, I was having a bad dad and took it out on you...your kindness inspired me to be nicer to others..." A beautiful story in my opinion. Like you said kindness can go a long way and is important.

LUV the last few minutes of your video and beautiful ending as well. You DON'T know how much people or kids you've touched with your story but you've come soooo far to keep that fire lit in you. It’s so awesome seeing that you take Jiujitzu! And I can absolutely recommend it as well! I take Brazilian Jiujitzu, and have been for a little over a year now. It’s definitely very challenging, but the payoff and the feeling of adrenaline and confidence really is worth it. It’s a very close-contact sport, but that almost adds to the closeness friendships you can make. Juijitzu and it’s Brazilian variant are both great, and if you can find a place that works for you, and has a good teacher, it can be a invaluable skill to have.

There are 2 main types of people who experience pain: 1. Those who use it as fuel to help people 2. Those who use it as an excuse to hurt people. Jonny, not only are you in the first category. You also not only blessing those in category 2 but inspiring people to do the same. This is what Christ wants to see. He sees that and smiles. Stay strong. ♥️

Dude you're such an inspiration! I miss the days of sky diving, rock climbing, scuba diving, motorcycle racing, barrel racing, long distance running, literally anything for that adrenaline high. I've been living with chronic pain for a while now after a few surgeries and am likely looking at another. Every day seems like yesterday, just a desire to sleep and disappear from my body and my mind that plagues me with depression and anxiety, and so much mind bending pain. I really needed to see this and especially hear the quote you shared. It provides me with something new to perhaps help me get up when I can and do more even when I can't. So, thank you for sharing your life and values. Just simply, thank you for being you. I hope life brings you all the happiness you want and need. Cheers!

Wow your comment could be mine. I've lived a very similar life. I'm sorry you have to deal with chronic pain. Sometimes it's so hard to look to the future when all you see is pain. I also lived a life of adventure until my genetics caught up to my body. I miss it everyday. The hardest thing is to grieve your previous life and realize it will never be the same. In all honesty, the reality for me is that what pain seems to bring is a sense of utter and complete loneliness that no-one can truly understand because they can't feel it, haven't lived it. There will always be the, "I'm sorry" and "I feel for you" or even the "I feel your pain", but none of these supposed statements of comfort actually bring any comfort. I think it's knowing that there are others who exist in the same space; those who lived fast paced, adrenaline filled lives which were just taken from them and leaving them asking, "Why? What did I do wrong? What did I do to deserve this?". I don't know. I guess that's just what I constantly ask myself. What about you? What was your life like? What is it like now? Hang in there as well! There are always people who love you and are grateful that you are alive.

You have gone through what a majority of people haven't and to see you overcome it positively ,says much of you. I have SVT (supraventricular tachycardia) and it feels pretty much how you described your symptoms. It's terrifying when it happens. Hope you're feeling better and prayers for no more issues going forward! 🙏🏼

I love the ones where she is watching your videos of her and she is into it. I mean it means you aren't ticking her off and it is a laugh together type situation. I miss training martial arts. I agree with trying to be positive and encouraging. Handle things when it is needed (violence has to be stopped) but otherwise let it roll. It is often the ones who came from harshness that have the kindest hearts. I truly agree with you, we go through to help through. Have a great day! Be safe out there.

I know how you feel man, I had to wear a heart monitor for a while cause I had a thing called SVT, which would make my heart start racing at really random times. So for years I couldn't be very active or have caffeine till I got it fixed, which only happened like three years ago. And even now I'm having a weird heart thing so I'm not supposed to be very active and overexert myself until they find out what's going on. But I'm glad you're getting back to what you love doing! Have fun 👍
