I’ve actually never been snow camping. I don’t have warm enough gear for that.

@@HikeOregon I use a 35 degree Northface in conjunction with a SOL Escape bivy. Adds 20 degrees of warmth by eliminating any drafts, adds a layer of air insulation, and is 75% reflective of my body heat. Keeps my bag dry as well if I were to experience any condensation. I also wear a beanie. We'll be starting snow camping 101 soon. Perhaps we can Co host an event. Many of my members as well as myself follow you. One of our active members, Rick Creekmore, manager of our local REI, surprisingly has never snow camped as well! We merely snowshoe out 1/2 mile, make camp, a bonfire, talk gear..., enjoy the evening. I really hope you can join us. I use a Nemo Tensor insulated sleeping pad (R4.2) in conjunction with basically a foam yoga mat. So with your present gear, that's all you need. I'll reach out when I have a few dates picked out.

I don’t weigh my pack/set up anymore. I went down a dangerous rabbit hole with pack weight to the point where I wasnt taking enough food in order to save weight.

How do you like the zpacks rain jacket you mentioned compared to the outdoor vitals tushar? I'd love to see some suggestions of places to go backpacking in the winter that aren't snow camping.
