i agree Ucj rex should not be an easy target to take down, but possible to do yes with effort

Apexes keeping each other in check in terms of combat I can understand but I think their numbers should also be kept in check by the food supply. Predators in mid and small tiers should be able to rely on AI for food but large mid tiers like allo and apexes should have to be forced(when they're at sub and or adult stage of growth) into pvp with either by ambushing smaller player dinos or by fighting other dinos at their tier(exeptions maybe larger semi aqutic mid tiers like sucho since they'll likely rely on fish and will be slower). For herbis I think they should compete with other herbis for food so they have an incentive to bully others off of food(should also disincentivize super herds). To incentivize players to pick herbis so larger carnis can have enough prey, larger herbis should have much faster growth times, however their carni match ups should be very close fights(rex vs trike in legacy) or at least the herbis should have a higher skill floor. I think this can be simply achieved by changing diets, plant spawns, AI speeds and or player dino speeds. Things the devs have shown they have the technology to do(lol).

My theory to the gifs: The one where it leaps forward is it's grappling/pounce animation, and the one with the red "hitbox" is when it does land it's grapple/pounce. Also the big slap might be alt attack

Yea I mean apexes taking nearly an hour to kill even with 6-8 Omnis on average is what makes the most sense, all of them should have insanely high blood pools that take larger and larger playables to bleed out. On top of that one bite from them should basically be a death sentence to anything under 4 tons, like if you got bit by a Giga even once as something half it's size you are likely to bleed out. And with Rex, well you can't really run away once your femur or ribs are pulverized. Apex carnivores should be intimidating enough that you change your direction once you hear them in the distance, they shouldn't be simply big targets for small and mid tiers to take as a challenge and try to solo, if anything trying that should be a death sentence unless the apex player is afk or something.

I'd love if that when the AI version of them comes out for Officials that they'll only spawn when a area reaches a certain amount of either bodies or players until a apex spawns to clear them out, they could have them patrolling certain areas for a certain period of time before either despawning or dying from starvation, either way best way to make sure apexes actually stay unique is to let AI handle its behavior as players cant be trusted with such power.

Well said, obviously apexes should be strong and capable of fending for themselves, especially solo. However, not unkillable if proper tactics and numbers are employed.

I think grouping with apexs should also be kept in check. Like, even if it is unlikely that we'll be seeing multiple adult rexs, I think the group limit should be way lower, about 3 max. The only issue with this that I can see is nesting (I'm interested in seeing mutations on rex and how they'll be handled and balanced) because you'd obviously want all your babies in your group.

I think allo will be like dibble with the attacks kind of. like how dibble has 2 attacks when its still. the one when you look down and then the regular one. Allo just has so many attacks.

Im happy with any new playable in evrima right now, but what I'm not looking forward to is how packed unofficial servers will be, since rex or trike wont be on official servers. Dem ques gunna be over 100 I bet. 😆

Congrats on the lizard man I am curious to the changes to these 2 playables in ervrima like I don’t see a lot of people talking about their growth stages I’m curious to see if the devs will make juvenile Rex like it’s real life counterpart where it was a fast agile hunter and as it grew up it became more heavily built along with trike it will probably be similar or the same as Diablo growth

yeah i do agree rexs and trikes should be like early stegos where they were tanky af and almost impossible to kill but id like to see them in offical off the bat even if they would be like super dominant because i mean we have the smae thing wil like carno and ceratos which just run around care free so bringing in rexs and trikes will stop that but they would still be able to die if they arent super good to those groups of 2-3 carnos or like the 5 ceratos that used to kill me

11:00 heres the thing... put some AI dinos on the map and maybe keep some rexes away from the migration zones. it makes the game better and more immersive if apexes can grow outside the high populated zones, show up, cause trouble and then dissapear in the vast map again

While your point on trikes not being a problem unless another player makes it a problem is extremely good and valid, we all know people are going to pick unwinnable fights with trike and then start to scream, cry and throw up about how badly trike needs a nerf. i just want sub rex to not be the best mid tier, make it as bad as sub giga, since sub giga actually feals kinda fair, like it still hurts alot to get bit by it, it's got good bulk, it's trot is good as always, and it still has the same weaknesses as it's adult, like bad turn, and lackluster amush
