I know you are Vietnamese, but the way you speak, your cadence and accent, really reminds me of my Omi. She was German and passed away a few years ago. I didn't know her very well growing up. My mom is very mentally ill and kept me from her due to her mental illness and paranoia. But the first thing she did for me when I got to know her was crochet me a little bunny with a removable coat. She also told me to love and forgive my mom even though it hurt. She had also moved to America and had been married to a Puerto Rican man for over 50 years by the time she died, so she understood that cultural tension of being an immigrant. So now I'm crying over a Vietnamese woman who sounds kind of German because she is crocheting little animals. I wish you the same sort of happiness and long-lasting love she had.

I learned to crochet in the 1960s when I was 16 years old. Learned from a British elderly lady who was lonely and put ad in paper to teach crochet. I paid 25 cents ( Canadian) per session. she served me high tea with tea and english snacks. The 60s was the time of crocheted chokers vests and beanies. i am now 70 years old and have crocheted all my adult life. I have made many different things and given away many but the thing that I love about crocheting is mental health and great de-stressed. it has saved me from losing myself to stress fear and the ugliness of life and hurtful people. I am forever grateful to that lovely English lady.

TWO WEEKS?! GURL- It took me two weeks to learn the single crochet stitch let alone making full on stuffed animals. That’s so good! I’ve been improving over a few months and I make animals, bags, hats, and more 😁

As someone who's crocheted for 20 years, this is how quickly I expect everyone to pick it up. In reality, it takes years to perfect your crafts. But being naturally gifted certainly helps 😊
