What if AVENGERS VILLAINS were DRAGONS? (Lore and Speedpaint)

Күн бұрынThe Avengers very obviously have some incredibly EPIC villains with some awesome and intimidating designs. They're perfect fuel for turning into Dragons! So in this video, I try to answer the question (that nobody was asking) What if Avengers Villains were dragons? And I think the results turned out AWESOME!
So as a follow up to my first episode of Avengers as Dragons from earlier this week (Linked here: • What if The AVENGERS w... ) I drew Thanos, Loki, Ultron and Red Skull into monsters, reptilian beasts. I also lay out some lore for these creatures as the speedpaint is going, explaining their histories and tales based on the Marvel characters they spawn from.
We've got a massive dragon of death, a longtailed trickster drake, an albino skydragon of the same species as our Iron Man Dragon and, of course, a hydra!
I hope you enjoy the video and please leave me more suggestions for dragons and monsters and whatever in the comments! Enjoy the art and stories!

for the Loki dragon(sorry if it's spelt wrong) the golden pieces give a nice contrast with the green and the blue sky it just look nice you know, a good look to it.

Yet all it speaks is nonsense, presiding that you get it to talk and live to tell about it. No one can figure out how an average peasant girl can understand more on the subject than a dragon. It is kinda sad for the dragon.

Fun fact: hydras aren't dragons. The original hydra was a large multi headed snake native to the swamps of lerna in Greece.

PopCross Studios Christian you should make a video which is the option of the community redraw instead of you re-drawing our drawings we redraw one of your drawings and you pick the best ones and art review them basically how you do illustrator reacts

That hydra was so. Freaking. COOL. Favorite of the video, no doubt. The snout, the coloring, the head positions...the frills were a great touch, too. I also really love the hydra from Hercules, and would be thrilled to see more hydras in the future. Thanos had such a great size and shape and I loved what you did with the jaw; it turned out SO good. Great idea making Ultron a variant of the Sky Dragon; that was a neat touch! I'm still a sucker for an unconventional dragon, of course, so I really loved Loki as well. I think the gold detailing did kind of look more separate from the rest of the dragon, but I feel like that was because you made them look more angular whereas the rest of the dragon was all curves and smooth lines. A little more gold on the rest of the dragon and maybe some more curve to the gold details might have made them look a little more organic? Anyway, another great video!

I've actually read the 60s Nick Fury comic where Hydra first appears, and in that, Hydra's motto was phrased as "cut off one *tentacle* and two more will take its place," so I think it may be possible that Stan Lee just thought that a hydra was some kind of octopus monster... maybe he got them mixed up with krakens or something?

I’m not sure but I might like this one a bit more than the first video Thanos looks large and intimidating, it looks like the type of dragon that could decimate any foe whether Dragon or Man that stands in its way Loki looks creepy and just a little off, like it knows something you don’t and that it’s watching for that first sign of weakness, personally o would’ve given it the ability to produce a gas from its mouth that made the victim hallucinate or a mind control ability Ultron looks fantastic, I love the concept of it being the same species as Iron Man and that anytime one is born it’s immediately thrown away to survive in its own Red Skull looks powerful and constantly enraged, I love the idea of him being a Hydra but I would’ve given him something to represent his cloak from Endgame if you were going for a singular dragon but I understand why you didn’t go for it Overall loved the vid, you did some great draws, keep up the good work 👍

With the Thanos dragon, I believe the Dragon Ball "parts" that you referred to were Nappa and Vegeta's armour at the beginning of Dragon Ball Z (specifically the shoulder pads)

The Metal Grip Hydra. A violent breed of dragon with five heads. The center head is very intelligent and full of cunning while the other heads, which are very durable and can extend, are only capable of very simple and basic thoughts. Because of this, the other heads simply obey the center head.

The Black-Plated Spider-Dragon. A sub-species of the northern spider-dragon, Black-plated Spider-dragons are far bigger and stronger than their smaller and more agile counterparts. At birth, they look identical to a baby spider-dragon but when they reach adulthood they become bigger, stronger, and covered with black plates. They are incredibly hostile and violent, especially towards Spider-dragons. In fact, they often hunt Spider-dragons, not for food but just to kill them.

These look so cool! I really liked the Loki dragon. One thing you could try to make the gold parts of him look more organic is maybe adding a thing line of desaturated green to the edges and maybe darker shadow areas of the gold. But I think it still looks cool as is

I can answer about the Hydra logo. The simple answer: The MCU uses the Red Skull logo as the general Hydra logo. That logo is meant to symbolize Red Skull and his long reach, infiltrating and squirming into organizations and governments. Octopuses are also extremely intelligent, hard to kill and always escape. In the comics and Agents of Shield show they show that Hydra is actually born of an older cult that worshipped one of the first, and most powerful Inhumans who looked like a Cthulhu monster. Their mission was to revive him. So there are a few reasons why Hydra uses that symbol… in the comics they actually have had a regular logo and even one with a dragon/rams head with curled horns that kinda look like tentacles.. but it was meant to be a severed skull of a hydra to evoke the saying, “two heads are better than-“ nope.. uhmm… “cut off one head and you’re a psycho. Who goes around cutting off hea-“ that’s not it either.. eh, I’ll think of it eventually. ;D

I had the same exact question you did and did a bunch of research. lol Extra fun fact, in the MCU version of the Hydra logo, it was designed so that the spaces in between the tentacles make little cogs/gears. That was to symbolize how Red skull was more innovative and industrious than others. His Hydra was a well oiled machine of progress.. even though it was a horrible, evil machine of terrible negative progress. Lol

I think the idea of the nordic long tail "armor" is a good idea. Showing that the dragon wears armor to further protect itself implies the design that it's not as strong as other dragons, and the horns as the dragon trying to look intimidating.
