What if Competitive Smash Never Banned Stages and Items?

Back when Super Smash Bros Melee first came out most tournaments were ran with all items and stages on. Tournament GO was the first notable tournament circuit that Melee had and their ruleset was the following.
2002 Tournament Go 3 Ruleset:
- 3 stocks
- Items set to "Medium"
- Best of 3 sets
- Winner has to keep their character, loser is permitted to select stage and character
- Team attack set to "On"
- 1v1 bracket double elimination
- All stages

Rather than letting this tournament fade into obscurity I decided to see what it would like in Smash Ultimate. I adapted it for a Smash Ultimate ruleset and came up with this.
It turned out to be a pretty good time!
Come enjoy the shenanigans as we play Super Smash Bros the way Sakurai always intended us to.

It's surprisingly fun. Getting to counter pick to any stage lets you get really creative

I used a "battle Royale" ruleset for an event at the games club at my college, It's 8 players on Great Cave Offensive Items on low or medium based on preference. 10 minutes 1 stock 200 HP And then optionally screen killing items like master ball, final smash, etc off due to being SUPER op. It feels legitimately tense and like a battle Royale, scavenging the open field and platforming for items, then trying to engage and disengage tactfully while keeping as much HP as possible. It was very fun

Dragoon is the screen clearer exception, gathering all 3 on a massive stage with 8 players should be HEAVILY rewarded. (Make sure to turn of special flags too if you try this! They can be super broken since it's only supposed to be one stock and there's room to hide with it)
