Great builds for these gym leaders! A nice, versed, and well-rounded builds with thoughtful monotype champions! The kanto starters being featured and not being cliche aces is really nice. Really like the setup and strats used with each team having a variety of options. Love the competitive style of the builds!

Rain Dance doesn't boost Thunderbolt. It does make the separate move Thunder ignore accuracy and evasion checks though. Having* said that, great video and an interesting thought experiment!

You did a great job with this list. The only thing I would change would be to swap out the Blastoise one Misty's team for Gyarados. Misty had one in the anime and is arguably her strongest Pokémon. Hidden Power Flying would do some serious damage to Grass types. Since we can give Pokémon moves from other generations, Gyarados could be given Earthquake. This would destroy any slow Electric types or those that have been frozen. Hydro Pump would be the third move for general damage and the fourth is customizable. Thunder can be selected to take advantage of the rain or Ice Beam for Dragon type coverage.

It would have been cool if after you became champ you went to The tv and would every once in a while get an announcement that someone new dethroned the elite four champ

this was such a wonderful vid, insta sub. another comment alrdy mentioned the thunderbolt/rain thing, so i wont bother with that but i will say starmie could use thunder instead of thunderbolt, since rain is more than likely gonna be active, same for many of lt surges mons, tho i would keep thunderbolt on some of them tbh. another suggestion would be to change ampharos into an annoyer supportmon fully with dual screens, thunder wave, and attract (or swagger.) destiny bond instead of explosion, and fire blast instead of curse on weezing would help diversify the first 3 mons. would for sure give nidoqueen thunderbolt, ice beam, sludge bomb, shadow ball. instead of toxic for crobat, id go with confuse ray to diversify status conditions a bit more. for mr mime id change hypnosis for sunny day, which would set up slowkings flamethrowers, espeons morning sun, or zam's fire punches. i feel like that would be more helpful overall than inaccurate sleeps. alternatively, substitute would be really cool for the baton passing strat. anyways, sorry for the ramble, but this was really fun to watch, as im sure it was creating. i hope you do more!

Seeing all these overworld sprites of the Gym Leaders got me thinking. Everyones haircolor more or less matches with how they should look, except for Sabrina who goes from black haired to a ginger for some reason.

That means Whitney would be a champion. I had enough trouble with her the first time.

Erika is missing an Exeggutor and Venusaur, in place of Jumpluff and either Victreebell or Vileplume to keep at least two Kanto mons on the team. And the Koga could get a Gengar in place of Venusaur. Makes her team tough with two starters and psychic > flying. Dope video though

I think it'd be really cool if they were allowed one legendary if applicable for their type. For example: Misty - Suicune Surge - Raikou/Zapdos Erika - Celebi Sabrina - Mew/Mewtwo/Lugia Blaine - Entei/Ho-oh/Moltress also, since Giovanni seems to be a normal + ground trainer rather than a pure ground user, I propose GSC Snorlax, the most powerful and ubiquitous pokemon in GSC OU. I also think that since Koga is poison type it would be cool to have Gengar in there instead of some of the less powerful pokemon.

For Surge's team: Why would he have two Pokemon with Rain Dance, but only one with Thunder? Every one of his team should have Thunder, because that is such an offensive threat.
