Күн бұрынJust 3,000 light-years from Earth is a black hole visible to the naked eye. Thankfully, we are a safe distance from this stellar black hole and many others like it. There are approximately 100 million of them out there in our galaxy that we know of. They are the remnants of supernovae, which occur when stars 10 to 20 times larger than our Sun collapse in on themselves. Could a black hole devour us all one day? There are millions of them out there just waiting. And if we happened to make a black hole accidentally, well, you better fasten your seatbelts. Things are going to really suck! Quite literally. What would we see if we got pulled into a black hole? Could Earth orbit the Sun and a black hole? Would we survive spaghettification? What would happen if we get past the event horizon?

Well its effectively true if you concider that there's no real difference between being outside and inside a black hole. The singularity is everywhere. If you rotate any object on any axis, you find that all dimensions are interchangeable rather than seperate. Therefore there are no dimensions, thus it is all one. A black hole only appears to be exceptional because of the extreme gravitational conditions vs elsewhere. I'm just waiting for the physicists to work this out for themselves 😂

My dad set this account for me, but our school has said NOTHING about natural disasters. Not even black holes. This teaches me better than 5th grade. Keep up the good work!

Whatever goes on in a black hole, it’s safe to say that you don’t just cease to exist entirely. Remember, energy can’t be created or destroyed, only changed. It might be a wormhole, but that’s very unlikely, the most likely thing that would happen is the black hole’s pull causing you to crumple up like a piece of paper.

If anything falls in a black hole, not only would the effect of gravity difference (which would cause spagettification) occur, but also time dilation (which would also become stronger nearing the centre). The two could cancel eachother out. So it could be that everything would stay intact falling. And the event horizon is the boundary where outsiders see the falling object becoming redder and come to a standstill. But the falling object would see the universe speed up and becoming blue-er and also fall in. To end up in another universe. The center of the black hole may be the outer edge of the new universe infinitly far away. Maybe there is a civilisation thet has managed to cross a black hole and might be billions of years old. I say hey to them👋🏼🖖🏼😄

Or maybe we come out of white hole, a Big Bang of a new universe. Maybe, since time ceases to exist at the singularity, you are jettison out, along with all the matter that that black hole ever consumed into a new universe, which is at a scale relative to however much matter was consumed, so that it is as infinite as ours.

Well thankfully though, the closest one to us is over 3000 light years away. Which means, even if it were to travel to us at the speed of light (which it can't), it would take 2,999 years to enter our solar system. It's unlikely we would've missed any significant ones that could be close to us by now. A tiny one would probably just miss all the matter in the solar system and we wouldn't even know it passed us. A large one, we'd be able to see very far away, so it would take hundreds of thousands of years to get here because they dont travel at the speed of light. An unlikely scenario but an interesting concept nevertheless

PADI BOYD: This only happens with stellar mass black holes where you can feel that change in gravity. But, if you found yourself entering a supermassive black hole, you wouldn't feel a thing! All of a sudden, you just would be inside the black hole, never to be seen again.

If the earth had the misfortunento either encounter a black hole or simply have one get too close to it, our planet would be irrevocably destroyed. This is an extremely unlikely scenario, but we all the time in the universe to wait for it.
