Fun fact not only is Ghetsis' team nasty but it's an almost near match of Cynthia's team but with Unova pokemon only. Also his Hydragon is the only reason we got fairy type in gen 6. Yeah Ghetsis was that tricky.

@@animatepokemonadventures7889 Heh, whats even better is that his ENTIRE team is made to counter N while also being really strong against the protagonist. In the manga Ghetis beat N to a bloody pulp just because he helped him while he was gonna fall down to his death. He hated the fact that it was N who saved him so he went in a rage and slammed his face with his cane and abused him. He had to seek serious medical treatment later on.

In my opinion Ghetsis is S tier in the first game and A in the second. His biggest downfall is fighting types, however most fighting types available in Unova either evolve too late/ get outperformed by better physical mons later or are simply slower than the opposing pokemon.

Cynthia’s Lucario is super effective against half of his team, so Ghetsis would beat her if he manages to beat it with his hydreigon’s fire blast or focus blast near the start of the fight, otherwise she’d have a better chance of taking him out

Me too, and i were foolish enought to not teach my Emboar any fighting type moves, at the time it only knows fire electric and dark type moves and all of them are not very effective against his hydreigon, but in the end i defeat hydreigon and at the same tyme ghetsis lost the battle

Now I have a doubt. But if in the remakes Ghecis will have Bisharp, he will have the opportunity to evolve him into Kingambit? The Ace pokemon It would still be Hydreigon, with the highest level of the team, but Kingambit would still be the one who would enter the field last the highest level of the team, but Kingambit would be the one who would enter last. If so, probably Ghecis would really become the strongest villain in the entire franchise. Of course I don't know if Paldea's pokemon also count, however it would be strange at the end of the game to have a pokémon not yet evolved (unless it has Evolite)

Pity that if Ghetsis made his debut in Gen VI, his Hydreigon would've destroyed by anyone who uses a Fairy Type Pokemon. Although an easy fix is to equip his Hydreigon with one of those berries that halves the damage of Super Effective Fairy Type Moves, and teaching it Flash Cannon to deal Super Effective damage to Fairy Type Pokemon, then it should be good.

B2W2 Ghetsis’ team is better defensively since no 3 pokemon share the same weaknesses unlike his BW team, but I think his hydreigon having a worse moveset represents how damaged he is mentally, losing to you alone is enough to send him into a mental breakdown where even the shadow triad see that his mental health had degraded so much that he won’t be an actual threat to Unova again

Giovanni managed to be a Gym Leader though. And Ghetsis is far smarter, more successful and far more malevolent than Giovanni ever could be. Giovanni's like a mafia boss. Ghetsis is the man playing at normal people's hearts in order to manipulate them, like a politician. They both want the world, but at least Giovanni is respectful. Ghetsis just straight up threatens to kill or your friends every game he's in.

Let’s do it. Cynthia actually has a lot of good match-ups against Ghetsis since she has Togekiss which is a fairy type and is quad strong against Hydreigon. Seismitoad is also likely one-shot by roserade. Bouffalant and Bisharp are both weak to Lucario with bisharp being quad-weak to fighting. Spiritomb is also strong against cofagrigous since ghost is strong against ghost. The only pokemon on Ghetsis’s team that isn’t hard countered by a pokemon on Cynthia’s team is Eelektross since it has levitate for Garchomps ground attacks. But I guess Garchomp could technically just like giga-impact it and that would probably be enough to finish it off. And that still leaves Cynthia with both Milotic and Gastrodon untouched.
