I'm not Trashing on this story, I'm trashing on the authors who feel they need to age them up. The original author did an interview and he said the heart of the story were these were child soldiers. I'm sorry, 16 In most countries, you can join the military. You're consenting adult at that age. Hell in the United States, you can get drafted at 15. Aging them up does not enhance any of the stories that I have ever read. I don't know why they keep doing this. This is one of my pet peeves. Don't age him up unless there's a reason behind it. Most of the time there isn't. And what it truly does is white wash The fact that child soldiers exist the original author wanted to draw attention to that, so he wrote where they were training to be ninjas as children not draftable, age, not consent in adult age children and it misses the point when they do this and it does nothing to enhance their story. Some people Say, well, you're getting too uptight about it, but it just bothers me that people totally missed the point of Naruto. They were children and they were trying to be soldiers. They may call it ninjas. That may call samurai, but they're still child soldiers.
