Another Easter egg I loved was when Rogers Hood asks Peggy to tell him about her Steve and she responds “No I don’t think I will” a callback to Endgame and the conversation between old man Steve and Sam

So great to see Wanda again but of course she had to be distracted with something else while the final battle occured since shes just too powerful to be apart of a battle. But holding back an incursion and Thor with one hand each and creating multiversal portals are some great feats!

I can't be the only one who wishes Hawkeye was in this episode, this would've been the only time where he would've thrived. His primary weapon is a bow and arrow, and the episode takes place in 1602; Hawkeye could've been the secondary lead in this episode if he was in it. Or he could've been one of Rogers merry men.

The banner iron mask is a clear reference to "The Man in the Iron Mask", a real person that became more famous in the works of Alexandre Dumas which had been adapted into the movie of the same name with Leonardo Di Caprio as the man in the iron mask

BUT, in the adaptation of "The Man in the Iron Mask" from 1944, the design used for the iron mask was the original inspiration for the mask of Doctor Doom in the original comics. So it actually is a Doctor Doom easter egg after all.

I love that they referenced Othello a couple times, since Tom Hiddleston was in a London production in 2008, shortly before he was cast as Loki. It’s a reference to Hiddleston’s early career, and I love it!

Not exactly. He played Cassio in that production (Ewan MacGregor was Iago), and in the episode he refers specifically only to Iago, which was his inspiration for Loki.

@@MelianLimGachaVideos yeah I read the synopsis. my wild theory would be the watchers are actually the universe killers. the one we see is just one among an army of them, who literally let universes die, even tho they can interfere and help them all. just a wild theory, I know it won't happen i predicted that loki would kill Sylvie and he who remains both at the finale episode. but naah nothing happened.

Two Shakespeare references you missed (1) The To Be Or Not To Be soliliquy takes place in Act 3 Scene 1 of Hamlet but Yorick's skull doesnt feature until Act 5 Scene 1. An indication that something is slightly amiss with the continuity of this universe. (2) The play Loki is bragging about Shakespeare having written the part of Iago for him is Othello. Loki is correct that Iago is the biggest role of the play (strictly going by word count) although he is obviously not the titual character. In Othello: Iago was a loyal servant of Othello before his seemingly motivationless betrayal. Loki being cast as Iago can be seen as a reference to his betrayal of Asgard and his family in Thor (2011)

@@harlinaindra4899 Kenneth Branagh had worked with him a couple of times before casting him in Thor but I don’t believe any of it was a Shakespeare plays. Tom Hiddleston was in Othello in 2008 but as Cassio and Branagh wasn’t involved at all.

When Steve touches the time stone, him and all the people in the room disappear. That means not only him, but all of them were brought to 1602 from the infinity war era. Steve was the one who merged those periods of time, so only him could fix it. Sort of like Wanda was the one to fix westview, since she was the one that cast the spell.

Having Hela be the 17th century Queen of England could be a subtle homage to Cate Blanchett's career. She got two Oscar nominations for playing Queen Elizabeth. And they could have gone with Odin as King.

Another easter egg you missed was when happy said "never take your eye off your opponent" he was referencing the same line he said to natasha in iron man 2! nobody else has noticed that it seems. also steve and bucky being the ones to finally take down red skull who is sort of the face of hydra was super satisfying too.

This episode felt a bit convoluted to me. Captain Carter was brought there by Wanda to do what exactly about the incursion? She's an enhanced street-level fighter. When Hela was taken, Thor was right there doing nothing about it despite the powers he demonstrated later in the episode. Somehow, though, Carter's to blame because she can't fly or lasso a god out of the sky? Did Hela not have any powers? What about Wanda? She was throwing all sorts of magic around but couldn't magic lasso the Queen? It just seemed to be a means to getting Carter on the run and set up a lot of in-fighting that padded the episode.

I agree with this. It was fun to watch tho 😂 Perhaps only a being that have traversed the multiverse (Captain Carter) can effectively stop an incursion rift thingy. Wanda is so strong that she could delay it but she and thor cant save hela because their existence is limited to one universe. Wanda needed a being that has traversed the multiverse and is willing to save them whatever the cost which happened to be captain carter.

My interpretation is that since Wanda is their most powerful magician, and even she couldn't seal the portals permanently, they turned to a summoning spell which is basically a wish: "bring us the one person who can stop this" -- when the spell worked but things got worse since there was another person out of time, she got blamed. It's basic but it's there 🤷🏾‍♂️ they didn't expect her to have a lasso but to make things better at least. Hela did not have power but her scepter, the time stone, did, and she didn't know how to use it. Tony ended up figuring it out since he's Tony. And they imprisoned Hulk so they could ignore him and not make things worse. I thought it was the opposite of convoluted, but quite cliché and almost beat for beat similar to old comix. I guess that's kind of the point but Stephen being the only twist was a let down for me.

Well, she brought her and that led to the universe being saved, so it was the right thing to do. The premise of the show explains it, even small actions lead to big changes.

An incursion is when two universes collide. It's explained *in the episode* that Steve Rogers got displaced in Time after striking the Time Stone. This is not an incursion, it's a different (though similar) thing.

2 universes collide because of the existence of a displaced individual. Incursions by my interpretation is a universe getting confused because one individual is not where it should be, tries to correct it and therefore collides with the universe the individual is displaced to

Just a minor point: this is not the Medieval Period (which is about 200 years or so prior). It is a border between the Renaissance and Baroque. Not technically, Elizabethian since Queen Elizabeth died prior to 1602. Loved the Shakesperian references! Loki as Iago is apt.

This episode was SO MUCH FUN TO WATCH. Loki being a theater actor is perfect on so many levels, suits him (and TH) very well. Funfact: he was talking about Othello in some scenes, which he also played in. Scott being Scott is always funny and the teamup with Bucky is gold, I didn't know I need to see that.

4:03, This warped universe beginning to develop green (Time Stone related rifts) appears to have more to do with the unstable nature of the Time Stone following it being struck. 5:45, It’s not colliding with another universe, it has simply been destabilized due to its time being literally ruptured. The only thing that has prevented the entirety of the multiverse from crashing into and dissolving itself appears to be Loki, though it also appears he is unable to stop every reality from dissolving when incursions or other anomalies occur. 10:53, The mask is actually a Mark 1 Iron Man helmet repurposed as a homage to The Man In The Iron Mask.

The iron mask worn by Banner / Hulk might be a reference to the 1998 movie with Leonardo Di Caprio: "The Man In The Iron Mask". A character is imprisoned in that movie too (wearing an iron mask). In fact, the character improsoned is the twin brother of the French king, which is similar to the two personalities of Banner /Hulk, where the Hulk is often feels like imprisoned. The story of the movie is partly adapted from two works of Alexander Dumas.

I’m really enjoying the main What If storylines with Captain Carter/Britain as the leader. I hope she eventually leads a multiversal team into the main universe and I’d like to se her become Captain Universe by the time secret wars comes, would be a worthy touch! Plus we’ll need them What if zombies for battle world!

I like how Peggy was standing in the room alone once she won which referenced Steve standing alone in the ball room in Age of Ultron when he was under Wanda spell
