I lived in an alternate timeline where the boys series was so successful that they made a what if type of series. One of them being what if Soldier Boy raised Homelander, Homelander grows up hating supes and being one as he thinks it is why Soldier Boy is being violent and abusive father.

He’d still be a scumbag but nowhere near as bad as canon Homelander. He probably wouldn’t even be a villain, more of an antihero with a skewed moral compass but a moral compass nonetheless. While canon Homelander is firmly chaotic evil, this one’d be chaotic neutral-chaotic good. If anything I doubt he’d date Stormfront after knowing she’s a Nazi. And this Homelander’d likely treat Maeve better than the canon one so they may still be together meaning if a Ryan shows up, he’s probably Homelander and Maeve’s son. We’ve seen how powerful a natural born half breed supe is in Ryan but imagine how powerful a natural born pure breed supe would be, surely they’d be even more powerful especially if the mother is someone like Maeve who’s on a comparable strength level with Homelander. 😊

soldier boy was almost as bad as homelander back on his time. Respecting other is the least he would teach to his son. He even treat his team mate very poorly to the point they sabotage him. Lastly should i mention that soldier boy is both alcoholic and into drugs. Homelander might had different kind of trauma. So nope. He will raise homelamder into different kind of bad. And this time, there wont be any vought emergency procedure to reign homelander with (mental conditioning for approval and comic version of "noir").

@RePhantomz I agree with you entirely although there may be some positive influence on Homelander if he was raised by Soldier Boy such as being mature,mentally stable and properly trained in hand to hand combat. Obviously,he would’ve fitted into ridiculous teams like payback from what I’ve heard and probably follow his father’s footsteps where he would be betrayed in the same way as Soldier Boy(his father). One great positive change is the avoidance of Becca Butcher’s death and rape(of course Ryan would be absent) and Vought could’ve gone bankrupted had Soldier Boy’s parenting delayed all their plans. And The Seven might have been a real force of Good(although there were already corrupt Supes like A-Train and The Deep). However Homelander’s personality would be inclined to his father’s attitude and behaviour(very narccistic,egocentric and rude) and would not have been the influencer and inspirational Superhero we once knew. Maybe he’ll be a little bit worse or less

Oh and one positive change is that homelander wouldn’t be so insane with over claiming himself a “God”,thinking he’s top 1 (wouldn’t have blasphemed against the Lord’s name at least) and view all normal humans as “inferior” along with World Domination

@@JoaquinGarces-mi9lz perhaps but then again i am skeptical by what shown in the final interaction between homelander and soldier boy before fight. Soldier boy simply become what mold him into terrible person. Yep his own father. With addition to alcohol and drugs. So you know where my skepticism come from.

The boys season 4 takes place around 2022-2023 so he should be around his early 40s. Sister sage says that he's starting to age though so the V he was shot up with didn't have anti aging effects like stormfront or soldier boy

Anything is better than that lab i imagine with the responsibility of being a father would change him but he would need time to do that. I imagine he accidentally hurts his son while on drugs forcing him to get clean, once he sees what hes doing. Soldierboy wouldnt be perfect but i think hed try and fail on many things but eventually he'll get a hand to itm

What if Homelander was actually a good guy? Like genuinely wants to help people What if his first save in that episode of Diabolical, didn't went to sh*t and he actually stopped the terrorist and saved everyone. Here he isn't evil, just naive. Either believing that Vought can do no wrong or turning a blind eye to Vought's wrong doings like his torture as a kid, believing it's for the "greatest good"

He was a good guy at first, or at least he wanted to be as shown in the last episode of Diabolical (most of that show is non canon or at least dubious canon but the last episode is canon, it shows a bit of Homelander’s backstory it’s essentially his origin story).

He wouldn’t wear a cape. But he’d still be a terrible person and not actually a hero just an unaccountable weapon and Vought wouldn’t have had any control over him making him a lot more dangerous.

I think you need to take into account that SB did a lot of growth during his captivity. He mellowed out a lot. But during his prime he was a corrupt cop using excessive violence in urban neighborhoods and doing cowboy sht around the world. In the flashbacks SB had random bursts of violence and had a regressive form of masculinity that favored repressing emotions and violence. Basically Butchers dad. Homelander would just be a roided cop which is he is becoming in later seasons. Except maybe he would follow the chain of command. Being raised in a cage made Homelander more passive. He does what authority wants for pats on the head. Stillwell gave him the god complex as shown in the animated show. His inferiority complex prevents him from going all the way. He broke because he found everyone to be fake and also became fake. He wants unconditional real love but doesnt know how or what it is.

I imagine that soldierboy would get drugged up out of his mind and end up accidentally attacking homelander as a kid. My headcanon is that alot of the times he had killed people were because he was taking drugs, and by the time vought covered it up he wouldn't even have known the amount of people he did hurt. I think once an incident happens where he does hurt homelander then he'd be forced to stop taking drugs which would slowly make him a better person over time

Whether he changed during his captivity isn’t relevant since the soldier that would have raised Homelander would have been the one pre captivity. I also disagree that he changed he’s the same. Homophobic, thinks hes better than others etc.
