He served as an inspiration for both Scourge the Hedgehog and Surge the Tenrec, all of them being green, evil, fake Sonics. 6:52 that’s Boom Sonic. Sonic’s counterpart from the Sonic Boom series.

I think this mod is very ambitious. There are still a few things that need some fixing here and there, but it's pretty sweet in its current state.

I liked them all as to power ups sadly not all were ready but this video was fun to see and showcase what has been polished for the mod a lot overall I loved it!

The boo sonic was a neat idea. i hope for some more Sonic/Mario cross overs it bring si many possibilities to get creative and silly. What if Toad was Sonics partner instead of tails? this was fun. thank you.

Neat mod, needs a bit of work to work out some of the quirks, but this otherwise a great mash up between both games. Awesome showcase dude!

Great video, Darby. Congrats again on the 500k, btw. I was so stoked when I got to see it firsthand. The mod looks like it had potential, but it still needs a LOT of work and more thought put into the character selection. I did like Tails as propeller and Ray as cape, though. Also, that's just Sonic Boom era Sonic with the scarf. Edit: Oh, yeah, and if it ever comes up again, my name is pronounced Maven like Raven and Deo like (day-o). Or simply Maven is fine. Once you've seen this, I'll delete this part of my comment. I hate "correcting" people in public.

This makes me realize how different both franchises are from each other despite being compared a lot.

4:36 the penguin suit is supposed to be a glitch from sonic 2 fan named ashura the hedgehog. This happened when a memory overflow from too many items on screen caused Sonic’s color pallet to glitch out. You can try it out yourself in emerald hill with debug mode by placing several waterfalls (I believe your ring count [entity count] needs to be over 90 which is only possible with the waterfall [correct me if I’m wrong])

Also, that robot that replaces Birdo in this mod, is just Orbot, one of Eggman's two "companions" in Sonic Colors, the other is Cubot. btw, the sprite they used for Orbot in this mod, is just him really stretched out

Well, I'm going to say this seems like a decent WIP mod. That way It isn't as hard of a hit in case the dev is here. It has a lot of potential, and for the sprite-work they did do, they did alright. But almost everything could use another pass to clean it up a bit. I do hope they keep doing pixel-work, because it looks like they're having fun doing it. And I look forward to an update on this some time in the future. :)

The Black & Green Sonic is a bug in Sonic 2 with the debug mode that the community calls Ashura, and the Sonic in a scarf is his bs design in glitchy mess of Sonic Boom. Hope this helps and would love to see Tails Doll in this because it's a character that was only seen in one game (Sonic R) as a "Metal Sonic" like variation of Tails and needs another cameo in the game (hopefully a bigger one with a bigger backstory)

Hey Darby I think the green and black hedgehog is called Ashura. Scarf Sonic is from Sonic Boom being called “Boom Sonic”. At 0:59 that’s probably Modern Super Ray or just Super Ray, the Ray at the end is from mania.

Fun fact : When I was really young like around 6, I didn't know it was Super Sonic ( I didn't speak English at that age ), and I was just calling him "Fire Sonic"... Looks like I just preshot it! xD

That was t Scourge that was Ashura (who inspired both Scourge and Surge) Ashura is a glitch in Sonic 2 which changes Sonics colour pallet, look it up it’s a cool glitch.
