What if the symphonic elegance of the Hollow Knight soundtrack was instead constructed from distortion and power tools like that of doom eternal? Well now there’s an answer because I, Geoffrey Day have created something that is in such contrast to the original soundtrack that your little knight would just chainsaw instakill the hollow knight and then angry stare so hard at the radiance that it would peace out, roll credits.

I get your point about more intricate melodies = less brutality, but as a life long fan of Power Metal, intricate melodies soaring on top of a metal rhythm section is kinda my jam. Maybe it's the beginning of the first Argent Metal subgenre, Melodic Argent Metal...

My first thought when I saw "Melodic Argent Metal" was Melodic Death Metal and, subsequently, At The Gates. Slaughter of the Soul I think is solid evidence that you can still have pretty heavy melodic music.

This is only the second HK cover I’ve heard that isn’t just a “reskin” of the OST (the other: insaneintherain’s greenpath). I love the inclusion of Hornet’s theme that helps adds novelty while still staying true to the source.

Well... Track still has more complex melody than a Doom Eternal soundtracks have, but sounds great. It's like my favorite part from The only Thing They Fear Is You, but entire song. One of the best so far. Can't chose between Ludwig theme and this one

I would love to hear the Dark Souls OST in Doom Eternal Style. If you do more orchestral OSTs in this style, I would recommend you listen to Spawn of Possession. They play heavy metal in a way that still has complex layered parts, and the more melodic parts do not get lost in the mix.

Personally, I think Nightmare King Grimm's theme would have been exceptionally cool as the main track of choice here. However, you can never go wrong with doing Mantis Lords. Hell, it even got a remix in the Godhome DLC!

@@Ismael-kc3ry Hell Mantids, a heavy class demon that resembles a praying mantis, with its camouflage colorings and its large raptorial legs, it usually stalks the slayer from the slayer's blindspots. The only way to notice them is the green glow of its large eyes. Weak spot: forearms, shoot the forearms and it is disabled. When disabled it will scurry away as fast as it can. Its better to freeze them in place with an ice bomb, or light them up on fire with the flame belch.

I absolutely love how the drums make the melody feel like the accents land on different notes, it really adds a lot of new perspective to the original track. i really want this to be used for a mod that transforms all the music in the game into mick gordon doom tracks. it'd be tough to transform such a distinct style into another for the entire soundtrack, but i kind of need the Hollow Slayer in my life.
