Interesting but that would make no sense at all since the teams don’t play the other teams the same number of times depending on their conferences. Like the East was super strong in the 90’s and the West was in the 2000’s.

It's kind of the situation the NFL faces as teams play 6 division games every year, which is more than 1/3rd of the season. And each division winner goes to the playoffs.

West was deeper in the 2010s too. East has been catching up with the West now but West still seems better from top to bottom.

@@nrbmemes2414 In the 90s, Knicks won 50+ games 5x, 2 Finals appearances, 3 ECF appearances. Pacers won 50+ games (or on track to in lockout season) 4x, 4 ECF appearances. Magic won 50+ games 4x, 1 Finals appearance, 2 ECF appearances. Could have done more if Penny wasn't battling injuries. All three of the teams above also had at least 1 season winning at least 60 games. There were other East teams with 60+ win seasons like Miami making deep playoff runs in shorter spurts. Overall, those 90s ECF series were constant battles between the Bulls, Knicks, Pacers, and Magic. East was strong.

Its also important to note that the tougher conference is much harder to get to that #1 spot. Winning the west on the 2000s is much more impressive than winning the east.

The regular season never makes sense to me as a soccer fan. Why play 82 games but it’s essentially meaningless? In football you get 3-4 chances if you’re a good team. The league, Ucl, league cup, and national cup. Some of them actually get memed on if you win, since the Ucl and league are much harder to win then the other two usually. But at least it means something. Last year for example. The seeding didn’t even matter. It was the 1st and 8ths seeds getting to the conference finals. It’s just weird to me that the league where the most games are played doesn’t end up having a trophy. It should.

The 95 rockets did not wanna be the 6th seed… they were legit struggling, cmon man there are plenty of documentaries on those rockets teams. That’s why they have the most impressive ring of all time when u consider who they played against and all..: but no man they weren’t putting their “foot off the gas pedal”. They were struggling and at the deadline made the trade for Drexler

One of the knocks against Wilt has been that he had INSANE numbers (and they were insane, putting up like 35 & 25 over a 7 year stretch) but only 2 Championships to show for it. Now in this simulation he's got the crazy numbers plus he's got 4 rings, more than MJ, LeBron, Magic, etc...

What about old fashioned American College Football, where two separate sets of Media (AP and FWAA) and two separate sets of coaches (UPI/College Coaches and NFF/Nonprofit organization of coaches) voted on the title. There could have been as many as 4 but there were never more than 3 in the same season (1964 had Alabama, Arkansas and Notre Dame. 1970 had Nebraska, Ohio State and Texas)

David Robinson also has a championship 2 years before Tim Duncan is drafted in 1995 (Spurs 62-20). Chris Webber also has a championship in 2002. There would be no playoffs for the referees to rig (Kings 62-20).
