What if Jupiter was right next to the Sun? Or what if Earth switched places with Mars? Today, we're re-arranging the planets in our Solar System from largest to smallest. And then flipping them back to go smallest to largest. How would this affect Earth? And would we have a new planet to call home?

Watching solarballs and then this, this is interesting, solarballs only explored the order from the smallest to the biggest. Earth was suffering in Mars's orbit already (experiening ice age), if it was the other way around, Earth would be an iceball.

In my opinion, instead of waging war, humanity should focus on technological progress and on colonizing other planets, before an asteroid or other catastrophe hits the earth and erases us forever...For example, a good candidate could be Titan, I also made a video about it😊

I think Venus would have had a chance of being habitable if it was in Earth's place from the start, before the planet reached the point of no return that led her to become this huge greenhouse effect planet. There are some theories that mention Venus was less deadly but suffered a similar cataclysm that Earth suffered during the Permian extinction, but due to the closer proximity to the sun it was deadly.

I'm just curious I would like to see what if all the planets decided to switch places the closest planet flies into the Sun the second planet becomes the first the third planet becomes the second and so forth and so forth now that would be an interesting what if to find or see I've suggested that before but they've never took part of it yet

I’ll admit, I’ve never really thought about this before. I believe the instantaneous velocity vector of a planet in any solar system is a function of its mass, the mass of the star it orbits, and the distance from that star. The closer and more massive the planet the faster the instantaneous speed must be in order to not “fall in” to the star. So if the planets were reversed - large planets closer and small planets further - the larger planets would really have to be moving. On the other hand our planetary speed would decrease so our year would be much longer AND it would be out of an inhabitable zone as Earth would be pretty cold. If we could live on one of the bigger planets it would completely change Evolution and everything else. It’s also the case that, even if we evolved to be intelligent, it’s unlikely we could build rockets that could escape the planet’s escape velocity. It would be very strange and life probably wouldn’t exist.

Changing the order of planets, regardless of small to large or otherwise, would mean there would be no life on Earth. We are in the only position where life could be sustained. Any closer, Earth would be too hot and any further away, Earth would be frozen. Earth is in the only location where we can exist...not too hot and not too cold...just right!

This video does implicitly say that life evolving on any planet is beyond tricky. There are so many variables that must be met that, if you were to choose any planet in the Universe at random, and looked for life there, the odds are so close to zero you may as well not bother. I do think that life in the Universe is rare. It’s highly unlikely that life only exists on Earth but I think so-called “scientists” - Drake comes to mind immediately- absolutely overestimate the number of planets in the Universe with life. It’s probably partially why we haven’t found any other life in the Universe yet, simply because it’s probably rare. And that’s just getting life started in the first place.

As I was researching about the history of the solar system formation, there is talk about the golilocks zone not with Earth being directly in the center of it, but rather at the front-end of it, with Mars being on the back end. This came from the theory about Mars being habitable at one point before losing its atmosphere, unable to sustain it's magnetic field.
