Today, we will be looking at a scenario where the Soviet Union never fell. Back in late 1991, the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact as a whole collapsed after numerous events in the years before eventually determining the demise of the USSR. In this video, we look at a war scenario where the Soviet Union never fell and lived to the modern day. The Soviet Union was also able to keep the Warsaw Pact around in this new timeline, making for an interesting war scenario between it and NATO. If this actually happened the Cold War would definitely be longer and the west would be well.. annoyed. Russia probably would have gone down to the Middle East and taken that and expanding influence in Africa the Warsaw Pact would change like NATO’s course and I think the Soviets would win. What do you think?

That's it. You're genius! If the Soviets just gave up Kaliningrad then the Germans would be less mad. Thus one of the most powerful nations in the world wouldn't have bad relations with the Soviets and so the Soviets don't collapse as they aren't pressured into invading Afghanistan

1964, when Brezhnev took power, that's when it slowly started to collapse due to the Brezhnev doctrine and the Brezhnev stagnation, when the econmy stagnated until like 1985, then Gorbachev tried saving the econmy but it was already too late.

Believe it or not the USSR was a day away from existing into the modern day. Long story short an agreement was made to see the Soviet Union continue to exist but under a different constitution and slightly different system called the New Union Treaty but a day before the official ceremonial signing was due to take place (it had already been agreed but not officially) the August Coup took place. A single day longer before the coup took place and the Soviet Union would have continued although in a slightly different form. You can find lots of information about the new union treaty and august coup online if your interested both are quite well documented

I’d say the only way to stop the collapse of the Soviet Union is if Stalin and the other soviet leaders magically turned into your friendly neighborhood grandpa, basically magically make the leaders of The Soviet Union really nice people, then maybe it won’t collapse, or hey maybe it would collapse either way, who knows
