Жыл бұрынThe Ultimasaurus was a hybrid dinosaur from Chaos Effect, a Jurassic Park story from 1998. This unused monster would have looked incredible had Stan Winston created it for a film but instead we eventually got animals like the Indoraptor and Indominus Rex.

Considering how JW Dominion left the door open for the franchise . I think it’s safe to say there’s still a chance for chaos to take effect , and for the Ultimasaurus and the rest of its hybrid that didn’t make it to screen to appear.

I actually think instead of being a monster like the indominus Rex or indoraptor the ultimasaurus would be a lonely, disease infected creature that couldn't move on its own that is if Michael Crichton wrote the movie.

@@thorodinson6625 yes but T-rex has been disrespected too much in the Jurassic movies. The only exception is the first Jurassic World. Big mega-theropod dinosaurs don’t need to fight all the time with the T-Rex. They always do this to make other theropods look cool when we all know in real life Giga and Spino would get destroyed in a fight with a T-Rex. If a T-rex is going to be in the movie make it the big bad villain, if you want another mega-theropod as the villain don’t involve T-Rex at all. Give those dinosaurs their time to shine without making them fight a battle they realistically can’t win. Every theropod is cool and unique in its own way.

@@thorodinson6625 Yes but that was to let the Indoraptor shine as the villain. All Rexy had to do was just bite him once and he’s dead. Having Blue fight Indo made the stakes higher. The only good writing choice in that movie 🤣

A interesting way to introduce the Ultmasauras would be to give Dr.wu a spin off show about all of his hybrids, dinosaurs, and ideas. And it would give us a deeper dive into the jurassic franchise.

I actually think this is the best direction they could go. Many many people who are fans of Jurassic park are surface level fans, unaware of the massive history of hybrid dinosaurs the franchise has always has and typically believe they are a novelty for the Jurassic world part of history. I would love to see some of the much more recently discovered dinosaurs on display with full anatomical correctness like feathers in a movie based on Dr.Wus notes and programs

Honestly we need a horror survival game for all platforms where we explore an abandoned facility, being hunted down by Chaos Effect hybrids until you gotta survival the final boss: The Ultimasaurus. I-Rex, Indoraptor and S-Rex from the JW lore should be in the game too, as well as the cancelled human-dino hybrids too (which would work as genetic monsters in a horror game).

I think the Ultimasaurus would be awesome to see in a Jurassic movie. Instead of the Giga and Rexy in JWD, it would’ve been cool if Biosyn made a Ultimasaurus and the cast had to deal with that. (It’d be even cooler to see the I. rex fight the Ultimasaurus but too many things would’ve had to change for that to happen.) I really like the new concept art of the Ultimasaurus but instead of the spikes on its back, I think the Ankylosaurus armor would’ve been better. The spikes just scream 98 Zilla and would’ve taken away Ultimasaurus’ uniqueness.

Agreed bc honestly if it werent for being intelligent in JW the indominous rex would have never figured out how to take out the ankylosaurus with its body armor and back in the days that club on its tail killed carnivors with one hot to the body or head

Like the rexs bite doesn’t kill anything like it should and the sauropods are just fodder and the anky probably would’ve killed or extremely injured the indom regardless of it having tough armory skin

I really would love it if they would still use the Ultimasaurus in a future film . It would be epic to see and the Nanmu Ultima is already a perfect life action design . Rebor and Nanmu really are dedicated and fantastic toy and statue makers when it comes to Jurassic park and other movie dinosaur figures . I love how accurate their figures are to the movie designs. Take note Mattel .

An idea I have for JP/JW hybrids in-general (mainly those that are a combo of two or more animals), is this: 1. Not only are they mutated on the outside but also covered in skin deformities, lesions, & infected tissue. 2. And are they're doing poorly on the inside too. A shrunken stomach to explain why they are so ravenous for example. 3. Short lifespans- anywhere from weeks to a decade at most.

Having this hybrid that wasn't made would be really cool to see in the Jurassic Park/World universe. (Have it as a super secret hidden project known as "Project Ultima".) Here's a post credits scene I came up with: _We see a heavily fortified containment area having skeletons of dinosaurs and humans scattered everywhere with claw marks on the floor._ _The camera cuts to a human skull before it gets crushed by a massive, clawed hand as we see something very big in the near pitch-black darkness with a spiky tail._ _A large head rears up slightly revealing two big horns with a Triceratops frill. The screen gets closer as a green glowing eye opens up staring at the screen._ Cuts to black with a loud hellish roar heard foreshadowing that something of ultimate proportions is *coming...* I think it'd probably look a *lot more malformed and horrific* seeing as having a perfect hybrid of Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus, et cetera would just seem like jumping the shark. Maybe one of its horns would be underdeveloped, maybe the beak would have teeth protruding from it which we know is actually *IMPOSSIBLE* by normal means, maybe it would have more than one sickle claw on each foot...

on the "super-raptor", i seem to remember hearing an unconfirmed rumor that one of the raptors in TLW was supposed to be the "cyclops raptor" featured in the TLW toyline. if i were to redesign that whole sequence, i would definitely include it as a distinct individual (maybe like that film's version of the Big One) but not making it especially powerful aside from your typical plot armor

Dude. Ultimasaurus in live action would literally be a dream come true for me. It is my favorite dinosaur ever. It looks like a 4 year old designed it, but in the best way possible. In fact, I think I drew my own dinosaur as a kid that pretty much looked exactly like it lol. I legit tried making one in lego jurassic world since it hasn't appeared in any video games to my knowledge.

I think Those ideas for the ultimasaurus are awesome, but maybe just maybe if they have made this hybrid monster in live action or animated film or tv show it would've been giving negative reviews from critics for replacing real prehistoric animals like dinosaurs with genetic monsters.

I heard they didn't release the full size toy version of the Ultimasaurus is because they worried that the horns out poke someone's eyes out. As for the design...if the Chaos Effect aired during the 90s I might defend it. But I'm glad it didn't make into the movies.

To be honest, back when this was originally created, I was obsessed with it. I watched for toy releases back then and saw a "preview" of the Ultimasaurus. Though I agree, the name was a bit silly, I thought the model and design was amazing and I so wanted it. I wanted the toy, I wanted to see it in the movies/show. I never saw the CGI model you show, but that makes me want it more, because I think that model looked amazing. I'd love to see how an animal like that "behaved".

Fun Fact: Jurassic Park 3 was originally meant to be about extremely weird human and dinosaur hybrids taking over the planet and starting a human vs mutant war, but they realised they could milk more cash out of the franchise so they changed it. I think their idea might have worked for the novels considering that the novels focused way more on the horror aspect than the movies did but still its kinda a dumb plot and they would have had to change it anyway.

I actually have the baby figure somewhere packed away, I treasure the lil guy since we never got the adult hybrid. I should mention they DID make two copies of the adult, one was fully painted while the other was unpainted. They're in collector hands last I heard.

Design kinda looks like Diablo, especially the red coloured one. Actually, I remember the Indominus was originally called the "Diabolus Rex" in early scripts (or whatever) of JW. Maybe the Ultimasaurus was an inspiration for that name.

I don’t think it’s too late to make a movie based on it if they got the proper effects team and they went in a totally different direction. I think now is the perfect time to pull this idea off, especially if it’s an unknown island where Wu or a college of his was doing top secret experiments that were around the islands of Isla Nublar & Sorna where they could continue to experiment without any outside influences. It would also give an excuse to do throw back designs to those from the Chaos Effect line and even introduce the Troodons from the Tell Tale games. A mixture of sci-fi and horror with vicious looking hybrids that even InGen would of disapprove of, but perhaps were ordered by BioSyn but were done in complete secret in order to avoid suspicion. The Ultimasaurus itself could even be built up throughout the movie and fully revealed at the 3rd act. And not only would it be a major threat, but as a twist, it would actually live at the end triumphantly claiming it’s territory. I think it would be something new & interesting to do that would be both dark & disturbing that could bring in some life into this franchise. Now is the perfect time to spice things up and go in a different direction that isn’t just rehashing what we’ve already seen before.

I'm going to pull a wildcard. When it comes to the producers' "we should never have done this" motif in Jurassic World, Indominus is completely outclassed when compared to Ultimasaurus. The ceratopsian horns and frills when combined with the raptor claws just screams "this isn't what dinosaurs are supposed to look like, but it's what the kids wanted to see". The producers should have based the Indominus design on Ultimasaurus; given it's design (as well as an optional decision to still give it camouflage) the creature would have been an absolutely terrifying villain in Jurassic World. Think about the horror those horns could cause when not used for "defence" - impaling people, going 'horn to horn' with a Triceratops. This unnervingly "unnatural" hybrid dinosaur was right in front of the producers' eyes... but they decided to go with an albino mismatched theropod. I just can't understand why.

I don't think I would like something so crazy looking in Jurassic Park. I like the more realistic dinosaur look, but I would like to see a more horror like dinosaur in the future.

The Ultimasaurus, in my opinion, would've been a better hybrid than the Indominus rex. Or at least a toned down version of it. If you're gonna make a hybrid to satisfy customers that want more monstrous dinosaurs, then the Ultimasaurus would be perfect. Combining the defining attributes of popular dinosaurs into a monster. In comparison, the Indominus is just Vastatosaurus/Allosaurus hybrid. The most anomalous thing about its anatomy are its opposable thumbs. That being said, Jurassic's tendency to introduce bigger and badder dinosaurs is getting redundant.

This would be so wild and not something they’d ever do but I kind of secretly wish that they made a series set maybe in between jp2 and jp3 or maybe after jp3, where they went crazy with hybrids and used the excuse that ingen was looking for the perfect hybrid for the next park, that would eventually turn into the indom for jurassic world. With this material they could do a number of things like introducing crazy outlandish hybrids, showing the doomsday rex, ultimasaurus, other chaos effect dinos, etc, plus if they made the main character some ingen employee they could expand on the employee villages and stuff, plus they could set this on site-c like isla muerta or smth. I feel like this would weirdly tie up a bunch of loose ends in the series but at the same time it’s probably much too outlandish for something they’d ever do. They’d also not be able to use Wu because he talks about the Scorpious being his first hybrid so they’d also have to explain away how all of the hybrids died or something so there would be a clean slate for wu in jurassic world to avoid plot holes

Still my favorite unused toy that I still have my pamphlet advertising it! I even drew this sucker for a job! According to its stats, its still bigger than Indomious Rex, and Definitely more fierce/ aggressive! Love to draw the 2 fight each other!!! Too bad the figure was turned down due to sharp tips of the figure. Sad shame.

My thoughts on the ultimasaurus being in a Jurassic park/world tv series or movie,I think it would be a perfect antagonist in camp cretaceous but it is still a hatchling in the series and over each seasons it grows from hatchling to juvenile to sub adult,and for it to appear in a live action movie ,I think it would be perfect antagonist if Jurassic park 4 happened when it is fully grown and ready to fight any apex predator that would make the ultimasaurus memorable in my opinion.

I have both the green and red & black version from Nanmu that you are posting in the video, and if you have only seen them in pictures and not in hand, you are totally missing out they are so beautifully details they almost look as if they could breath and walk around they are so very stunning. Nanmu did just such an amazing job.

Much cooler hybrids in the toy line than in the eventual sequels. Always thought the Indominus Rex was a boring looking hybrid compared to some of the stuff we saw in the Chaos Effect line.

I remeber Chaos Effect toys! It was my first time seeing a fusion of any two things, and combining some of my favorite dinosaurs into an awesome new one was amazing! 😸 I only got 1 toy from them though, brought it to school with me because i loved it so much, and promptly had it taken away by a teacher who never gave it back... 😿
