I was thinking of something similar: What if Chuck E. Cheese's opened stores with the Rock-afire? Showbiz opened stores with CEC characters for a brief time in the 1980s so it's an interesting concept.

I have 2 ideas, 1) What if robert brock went through with his franchisee agreement? This would probably lead to other things like then bever going backrupt and keeping guest stars. 2) What would happen if the wolfpack 5 wasn't popular enough to have the rock afire explosion be based on them?

If CEC did open in Japan (there's an article on it) They we're scheduled to open in 1998 or 1999 with Studio C alpha (oh yeah I also should mention that the hypothetical japanese locations would be imfamous for holding off on doing 2.0 renovations for another 10 years. also the higashimurayama location would still have the 1993 remodel)

Btw if you wanna what cities i personally think they would've gone to if they successful did do this here they are (it also includes the hypothetical dates of their openings (btw these are only a few locations, not all of them) - Tama-shi Tokyo (2000) - Asaka-shi Saitama (2003) - Yamato-shi Kanagawa (2002) - Muko-shi Kyoto (2010?) - Hitachiota Ibaraki (2004?) - Nago-shi Okinawa (2016) - Asahikawa Hokkaido (2007) - Iwaki Fukushima (2005)

@@ItzaRob ok i think i have some more ideas on the concept (but also i want u to put ur ideas as well): 1. some locations would still have the 1993 remodels (Ginza, Shibuya, Higashimurayama, Tama, Omiya-ku Saitama City) 2. some locations still have the avengers chuck walkaround since I'm assuming the public would prefer it's design? 3. commercials for the Japanese chuck e cheese would also still use avengers chuck, however the commercials would be in english (not dubbed in english but the actors themselves speaking english). 4. skytubes present in all locations except for omuta city, fukuoka (built 2011) nago city, okinawa (built 2016) miyakojima, okinawa (built late 2015) and tamana city, kumamoto (built feb 2015) 5. asaka saitama still has a v1 pizza cam but hypothetically would stop working in 2016, 13 yrs after opening. however, they refuse to remove it due to it's nostalgia. hope the video idea is still in the works. if you want to hold off on the idea for now, im cool with that! but i think this topic would be interesting to talk about.

I don’t think it was intended for Winchester to stick around. It was a basically a test store, and was about the size of an average fast food restaurant, which is a lot smaller than the stores that followed it. Competition with the other two San Jose stores (especially Tully which was like 20x its size) would’ve made it almost impossible for them to stay open, and probably was why it closed in the first place. I think if it did stay open, they wouldn’t have followed the same remodel pattern as other stores, and would’ve been kept as a retro/museum type of store, similar to the McDonalds in Downey, CA. The infrastructure and confined space of building wouldn’t have made it possible to update to the newer stage types and the arcade area would have to remain tiny, which would’ve been extremely lackluster compared to other locations. If anything, I believe they would’ve for surely closed when Santana Row began construction, since that’s when the building got demolished itself. The only reason why I could’ve seen Winchester sticking around for longer than it did would’ve been as a novelty, I could see them having kept the PTT decor and portrait bots, whether they were operational or not, but otherwise I’m surprised Winchester even lasted as long as it did since it was obviously just a prototype store that was vastly different than what CEC decided to do with their stores going forward.

Nope, they didn’t want to use any of the characters, and after cutting ties with Creative Engineering couldn’t do so anyways, so it was all or nothing.

I have a What If Video Idea: What If there was a Chuck E. Cheese's Flagship Location in Time Square in New York City which opened on May 17, 2002 with a Studio C Alpha. Although the reason why it got a Studio C Alpha was because it would've been delayed, as the location was delayed the most, originally planning to open in June 2001, the opening was delayed to Early Fall 2001 due to construction issues, and was delayed again to May 17th, 2002, due to September 11th Attacks on the World Trade Center, with the Grand Opening, which was part of "Chuck E. Cheese's 25th Anniversary Celebration Event" in New York City on May 17, 2002, beginning with an honoring to victims who lost their lives on that day. It's Currently a 2015 Update Store with a Unique Studio C Alpha that (as of 2024) resemble the set of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, as well as Party Rooms (Much Like Maple Grove, MN (12945 Elm Creek Blvd N), and Houston, TX (12523 Westheimer Rd)), some 2.0 Art, the 2.0 Exterior and they also have a Dance Floor in a section (That was added around 2021) called DJ Munch's Dance Area
