Respect to whomever made the artwork for the toon extra deck cards Side note I'd like support cards that 1) cycle back banished cards that pile up as a result of toon effects 2) an equip card you can equip to your own monster to make it a toon 3) a continuous spell or trap that bypasses the lp cost and no attack the turn its summoned effect on toon cards. Even I'd they have to slap an addition cost to keep it on the field

Spirits got Ritual monsters despite returning to the hand at the end of the turn, so it could be possible in the future, but would probably require a major rework.

Card Name: "Toon Pencil and Eraser" Toon/XYZ/Effect Effect: One Per Turn on either player's turns, you can activate 1 "Toon Attraction Island" (a reference to Pegues Duel kingdom) face-up from your Deck. While another "Toon" monster is face-up on the field, your opponent cannot target other "Toon" monster(s) with card effects. One per Turn: if a "Toon" monster is Summoned this Turn: (Quick Effect), you can shuffle a face-up "Toon" monster back into the Deck to summon a different "Toon" monster from your Deck or GY face-up that has the effect (Cannot attack the Turn it is Special Summoned), and it loses this effect while it is face-up on the field. This is a throwback to the older card that had the effect of connecting the two eras. Toons biggest limitations are A. How slow it is and B. The difficulty in summoning its best monsters To circumvent this, any extra deck monsters would want to be more than just a toon-version of an existing monster. Maybe something like a Manga Ryu Ran re-train that allows toon monsters on the field to attack the turn they are summoned but do half damage, or a parrot dragon re-train that helps you search toon-cards like toon kingdom, comic hand, etc. Or finally some sort or toon extra deck monster that lets you special summon toon monsters from the deck but with some caveat like cant attack the turn its summoned even if they normally can (but this is still good because they can still be used for extra deck summoning)

They should be allowed to be fusion summoned without polorization if toon world is on the field

All "Toon" Extra Monsters need a effects like "While you control "Toon World" and your opponent controls no Toon monsters,this card can attack your opponent directly, but when it uses this effect,any battle damage it inflicts to your opponent is halved."

From what I see they like to print Toons somehow related to the anime (except maybe for Cyber Dragon I guess), so maybe if they print synchros it will be synchros from the bonds beyond time movie where Pegasus has a cameo. Maybe Toon Junk Gardna, Toon Stardust was covered, but maybe also a Toon malefic Paradox Dragon, that maybe lets you summon a toon from grave instead of a synchro. From GX related cards I guess they can print a Toon Ancient Gear Fusion. And ignoring extra deck, maybe cards related to Bonaparte

RDA's Defense position wiper effect can be buffed to resolve on declaration of any attack. Also they can just take away the downside. Toon Dark Paladin can potentially have an alternate cost for the discard. Like shuffling 5 banished cards back into the deck

A potential solution to the issue with a toon xyz could be that maybe that if both the materials are toon monsters, they can be any level. That would open up the door to a lot of possibilities, such as Toon Cyber Dragon Infinity, Toon Utopia could maybe combine the effects of some of the other Utopia monsters, and Toon Toadally Awesome could provide both valuable negation on top of incredible recursion for any of your toon cards if it's send to the graveyard (would probably either tribute another toon you control to negate as a hard opt, or would have to tribute itself, idk) Love the video btw

Hey man this is a really good video and it was well put together but the music in the background is annoying because of the volume so I don't mind it it's actually pretty cool but it could turn it down so I don't have to struggle to hear you I think that might be more conducive to success. you know this video inspire me too make a "modern" reimagination of toons, for now i call them "vintage toons" and I imagine them as rubber house era cartoons to make them different from regular toons. for now my idea for a standar strategy would be using a the field spell to bring a bunch of low lever monsters or a single high level monster to build from there to make the "boss" monster (who for now i like to imagine as dark magician girl with the outfit mikey use in the sorcerers apprentice short in fantasia) who can cheat out many monsters from the extra deck. im still thinking in how exactly this deck would work but i have to things i want to make and that would be 1) most effects from this "vintage toons" would need to banish vintage and/or toons cards from deck or graveyard and 2) have a card like nibiru where after using his hand trap effect banish it and then bring all the banished cards (exept the card who used this effect) back to the deck.

I imagine a Toon Fusion could work by banishing the specifically named Toons from the hand or deck (I usually dislike cheating requirements from the deck), then on your opponent's turn, you can return the fusion to the Extra Deck and special summon the materials, to get around their summoning sickness and make them a bit more playable, and to have some of that dodging ability from the anime.

I always imagined if anything well get toon versions of the MC and rival of every series. For example we get a toon neos with a fusion effect, toon flame wingman being the payoff OR too. Ojama king, flamewingman being an otk machine and ojama king being interuption of negating a summon and locking even the emz. Thenwe get toon junk synchron with a revive + level modulation effect for both toon stardust which protects your backrow and toon RDA thats a board breaker. For xyz we get toon galaxy eyes that modulates it and another monster on your opponents side, change them to any level and rank both to either bahamut shark that cheats out a toon from the deck, or utopia thats a soft negate that makes an effect to become “destroy 1 toon monster on the field” which is countered by toon kingdom. Im a little unsure of arcV but i believe we get a low scale of odd eyes that searches on setting on the scale and toon D/D/D doom king armageddon that helps make one of the new ED toons, say being a fusion effect, turning a monster to a tuner or what not. Lastly for vrains im unsure how youd get enough materials for link 3s but toon decode talker can give your field a buff of sorts with borrelsword flipping facedown your opponents monsters Alot of the effects for the toons i kinda reworked as upgrades to the original to fit the playstyle of the deck, instead of being a 1 to 1 copy like they did for toon BLS or red eyes

Here're my thoughts on the matter, despite nobody asking for em I think that Toon EDs aren't as diminishing to the deck as you say, but I do think you're thinking about them the wrong way. Toons are meant to be our fun little taster of what it means to throw our cards at our opponent's digits without any care for how many fuckin dragons they put on the board (lookin at you, Branded). There are countless ways we can turbocharge this fun little family friendly strategy. For instance, point 1: • you don't need to make toon fusions with specific materials. If you remove the requirement to have specific requirements, and, for example, make a Toon fusion that just needs T. Dark Magician + 1 Toon monster, you get access not only to T. Dark Paladin, but also Amulet Dragon, The Dragon Knight (both of them, come to that), and maybe even Dark Flare Knight. • nobody says we can't have a level changing Toon, or that we can't Toon-ify something to do it for you. Level changing was a mechanic since 5DS, especially since Synchros needed you to perform basic addition, and Xyz needed you to multiply 4. So I present to you: Toon Gagaga Magician, Yuma Tsukumo's famous coffee deprived level changing magician's ToonTown OC. He would have the same effect, changing a level from anywhere between 1 to 8, but it would open up options for ranks 4, 6, 7, and 8 for Toon Xyz, making them seem a little bit more viable, especially if a form of Toon Gagagawind or similar was released, to allow you to summon T. Gagaga for free. • what would fix all these problems is not "what monsters would we add", it's "what ways to summon toons do we need"? We all know summoning more than 1 Toon in a single turn is a problem, it's why the deck isn't as good as it deserves. What we need, ladies and salamanders, is a New Toon World Retrain!!! And hold on to your tails motherfuckers because it gets better: we need a better way to search or summon those pesky little saturday morning viewings, lest we get our skulls bashed in so bad our Toon deck turns into Happy Tree Friends on cardboard. I propose either a Toon Shining Sarcophagus, or a Toon Ancient Rules. Think about it. One acts as a nostalgic continuous spell that searches your funny little pieces and makes it easier to play the dang game, while the other provides much needed summoning potential. Also I'm getting an idea mid writing so get ready for: • Toon Prime Viewing That's right, folks, a toon that's NOT based on an existing monster, whatever shall Luki think of next! I'm thinking it to be a link 1 monster that must be summoned with a Toon higher than level 4, and that protects Toon World/Kingdom. But what it does is that it stops your opponent from attacking toons on your field that isn't Prime Viewing. This would protect the Toons on your field and because of Kingdom's neat little effect, it can protect itself just fine. But here's the kicker, folks: once per turn, when your Toon attacks directly, *it can Power Wall your face-down banished cards*, that is to say, for every 500 damage your opponent would have taken, you instead shuffle back one of your face down banished cards, to drop their damage to 0, but you choose one of those cards to add to your hand. Think about it. You said yourself that the biggest turn off for T. Dark Paladin was the blatant lack of resources, so why don't we simply not have a lack of resources? And the fact that it's done with a damage trade off against your opponent could add some strategy to it, instead of the Toons being a beatdown Lightsworn hiding behind everything being really round. Maybe I didn't go about it in the right way, but give it some thought. I never claimed to be smart. To the tune of resource management, how about we now go into the opposite direction, and think about making use of the lack of resources? Bringing it back to the Extra Deck monsters, It comes to mind that you wouldn't want Paladin because of the lack of cards to discard for its negate, right? And you ALSO said that Synchro is the most conceivable wavelength for Toon EDs, right? So I present to you: • Toon Infernity Doom Dragon The effect of base Doom Dragon is, in exchange for its attack, it pops a monster and burns for that monster's attack points, but only if you have no cards in your hand. So what if there IS a Toon Dark Paladin, with a discard-to-negate, and if you run out of cards, use Toon Infernity Doom Dragon. Plus Infernity Doom Dragon is sick and I think he didn't get given enough love :( Two things, just as an observation to myself: firstly, I didn't talk about ED monsters a whole lot, despite that being... Y'know... The whole point of this. I just came onto YT at 11:00 at night to watch some Yugioh Zexal. I didn't mean to do this. I'm sorry. Not really lol Second... Good lord I just spewed the contents of my brain into the KZfaq comments section. This sure was a Luki The Commentator moment. To bring this bible's worth of rambling to an end, there's lots of things you can do with the funny Toons than just ED monsters, because it's as you said. Toons have the *potential* to swarm, they're just really, really not good at it. Maybe Konami will consider something in the future. Who knows? The toon synchro monsters could take inspiration from the alternate versions of the signer synchros - especially red dragon arch fiend, which has two variations of the base (hot & scar light) Possibly combine elements from both. Alternatively, you make use of Yusei’s ‘original’ boss monster, in Junk Warrior, but have its effect target all toon monsters on your side of the field, rather than specific level.

Would have focused a bit more on main character monsters for XYZ, Toon Hope (Utopia) and Toon S. H. ARK sound like something Pegasus would've done (if he wasn't dead). For Pendulums, Toon Odd-Eyes would cover for Flame Wingman's effect if HERO cards don't get Toon versions, could see a Toon Neos though. Toon Timegazer and Toon Stargazer would account for Arc-V, possibly special summoning a bunch of toons with their mechanic.

I would like for Toons to become somewhat of a parody theme. To make fun of other archetypes and mechanics.

Toons have always felt like a gold mine that Konami refuses to tap into, they could slap the word toon on pretty much any anime monster and it would appeal to toon players and fans of that monster, but for whatever reason they just don't.

I think a fusion of the retrained illusionist faceless magician & toon dark magician/magician girl could work, it would basically be a shield for the toons which prevents other toons from being targeted & destroyed by your opponents card effects. 1200 attack, between 3000 - 4000 defense, when its destroyed by the opponents card effect its banished instead of going to the graveyard & as long as its on the field it prevents toon field cards from being targeted or destroyed. When its destroyed it summons the original illusionist faceless mage from your hand, deck or graveyard in defense mode, it gains an extra 1000 defense & its immune to card effects for the turn its summoned.

Toon gagaga and gogogo magicians for toon utopia that instead of stopping attacks allows a monster to attack even if it wouldn’t normally be able to. Toon the dark magicians toon dark magician the dragon knight. Toon e heroes into a toon e hero fusion

Maybe giving all Toon extra Deck monsters an effect that if a Toon card would be removed from the field in any way, you could shuffle it back into the Extra Deck insteas and Special Summon its materials from the graveyard? That could fix the need for swarming the field in order to utilize the Synchro/Xyz/Link mechanics while also giving protection and giving some of those Fusion Monsters a more advantageous effect. Then the busted Fusion could be protection for toons by banishing it from the Graveyard and shuffling back any banished cards to put the Fusion card on the bottom of your deck.

What about a toon variant of The Dark Magicians?

I was thinking what baout Toon Exodia, this could be a mechanic for the Toon Archetype. Where parts of exodia, except for the head, can only be used as equips for othwr toon cards. Once you gather all the pieces on the field and / or hand, you win the Duel. It goes with the Pegasus theme of how toons are indestructible and will always win the day.

We have more than 4 fusions for toons, it's 7: Red-Eyes Toon Dragoon (for Toon Dark Magician and Red-Eyes Toon Dragon), The Toon Magicians (Toon Dark Magician and Toon Dark Magician Girl), and Buster Blader the Dragon Toon Swordsman (Toon Buster Blader + 1 Toon Dragon monster)

Toon World itself retrained as a level 8 pendulum monster would solve 99% of the archetype’s woes in the meta game by acting as an omni negate to the adverse life point costs involved with playing it but retaining the nuke effect of the player running it and introducing a few extra Toon pendulum monsters to synergy with it, namely an original card along the lines of “Inkblot,” a level 1 pendulum monster with the effect of protecting toons from being targeted by card effects while it is a spell card alongside Toon World or something like that. The issue with Toons has always been speed. The life points costs aren’t bad but the archetype is just too slow in the modern meta. Has always been to be honest. Probably by design but nostalgia is strong so I always go back to it alongside the Dark Magician. Competitive? Nope. Nostalgic? Hell yes.

I always support the idea of fusion toons the most. There is already a fusion "Bickuribox" which a remake would be perfect as a toon. I also want a Toon Thousand-Eyes, and even a Toon Relinquished as a effect monster only requiring you to discard a toon monster to summon it. Currently Toons & the Restrict monsters can't be built in a deck together, so I want that fixed!
