Humans would die out well before we even reach a type 2 status so rejoice, you are born at the perfect time. Don't fool yourself, if there was a type 3 status possible, you'd already have evidence of it in the trillions of galaxies out there.

Of course it would be very interesting to be there to see human civilisation take such steps. I mean just going to a type 1 civilisation would be amazing let alone type 3. I would say there’s a barrier that we haven’t crossed or may never be able to before we get type 1 i’m not be negative just it’s kinda how it feels, i mean there’s many theories we have just something is missing from making that leap because as i see it if we could take that step the boom forward would be as the say “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”. I’m still waiting for maglev trains to replace the ones we have no, reducing air travel time too, i’m no environmentalist but cars that produce no Co2 with just better overall energy usage, can’t rid ourselves of diseases because something new always comes up but improved healthcare where most treatable diseases are just gone like hay fever should totally be a 2010 thing. Nonetheless humanity ingenuity always amazes me and i look forward to the next steps we’ll take

I think it would be cool if science fiction writers made movies around the scale and incorporated present day technologies (or proposed technologies) at scale to present what “might be” possible. I mean, Star Trek and Star Wars is cool and fantastical but something within reach might just allow us to spur practical ideas that support the evolution or inspire younger generations to pursue science that’s might achieve what’s being presented.

However, as I am living in the year 2024, looking at today's caveman and tribal like behaviour of humanity, I can't see your optimism even slightly become a reality. And if we do not change our ways now in the short term to support your premise, I am afraid that when future life and organisms, who are interested in life throughout the universe, decide digging in to mother earth surface, end up seeing and finding traces of our self inflected exsticion.

The cathedral definitely goes way deeper than what we are shown here. The bottom arches heading into the ground are shorter than the top ones. It would be interesting researching the differing tops (some are crosses (I think not religious at all) and some are balls and some are half moons and some just pointed?

Why would we harness energy from stars? A civilization that advanced should be able to use antimatter. Besides, why would an advanced civilation necessarily be advanced because of how much energy they consume? Sounds more crude than advanced to me.

It is not a matter of energy consumption, rather the ability to utilize the energy most readily available. I agree that there are other energy sources which any advanced civ should be able to exploit. Antimatter is prob a more difficult scenario. Dark energy might be a more likely concept. however, for now, stars seem the more obvious generators.

Good dream. Humans should successfully achieve the impossible first. 1. Quantum mechanics, Brain computing etc, etc 2. Super intelligent AIs 3. Genetic AIs & many more such advancements. Right now its only an idea and not yet successful though started. This itself will take ages to start Type I then comes the II & III Thousands of years to go.

You od know that the idea of a Dyson sphere is not current? It predates the idea of vacuum energy and other concepts that are based on quantum physics. As in: By the time we CAN build a dyson sphere, the AI likely say "stupid" because it is a MAJOR project while something significantly better (total annihilation based reactors) are just some years away. There is a good argument to be made that we never will build large structures in mass, or explore this universe AND (i.e. both) settle many planets because - by the time we do that, we are so close towards making our own universe that this is the only sensible way out. Unless the technological curve flattens up BRUTALLY - this may be 200-500 years away. Pretty much all scenarios ignore that and assume a crazy glass ceiling. I.e. your AI society - that is not a type 3 civilization, we will likely get it in a decade or two, and THIS may turn is unti a type 1 and then 2. AI is way ahead of this projection. Brain computer interfaces? Already in the works (Neuralink). None of the projections here look like they will only come once we reach Type 3 - more like way before. As I say - endgame in 500 years max, or we slow down somewhere.

The first move of humans reaching the stars is to remove politics and religion from our society. Also I'm sure you understand that gravity is considered the weakest of all forces. My only issues with the video and yes I'm very aware it is only a video. The issues are with: Big Bang Theory, Black holes and Time Travel. Consciousness is not a localized phenomenon. It is nonlocal and infinite. The local experience is a deeply embedded belief system each entity developed over eons of biological evolution. Life thinks its separate but is actually infinite without limitation. When you realize that you are infinite in dimension, space, time, direction, communication, and all other notions created by discreet life units dissolves. Now you are able to cross multiple universes instantly and in fact be in multiple universes simultaneously. Physical technology will be useless.

Most pollutants are toxic, harmful fuels are out of the question, of course, this way of thinking is misleading. Overuse of energies - is not the same as the ability to use energies! Humanity has a hard time with this logic of some people. The ability to use all energies in the most rational, economical and technological ways determines the development of civilizations.
