You have to admit though, the backgrounds in this game are really beautiful

Here is my reasoning for fear of out of bounds Video games are fun, even when they're scary. we all know that the horror is intentional, and we usually have an explanation for it. But going out of bounds in games, it's unintentional. It's something the developers didn't want you to do. but that's only a small part of it. when you are out of bounds. you are *alone.* When you are out of bounds, you are out of *existence.* you have broken the barrier to this game's reality. you have crossed into something known, yet unknown. another, empty, universe. a blank universe, a universe never meant to exist. it's like the darkness. you know nothing will jump out of it to get you, but when you are having a staring contest with a plain of infinite void, it's hard to remember everything is all right. sometimes going out of bounds can even give you an existential crisis. but hell is it still fun.

Holy crap, I thought I was the only one! Okay, I have a couple of short stories for you, or anyone who wishes to read: I was like ten years old, and I was playing this Nascar game on the ps1, and during the car select screen, I turned the car upside down and I could see the flat grey bottom of it, for some reason I got so scared I ran out of the room, it took me like an hour to work up the courage to continue playing. And this one's relatively recent, I was playing Hat in Time, and I was doing just what this guy is doing, exploring out of bounds. I saw this giant Mafia head in the distance, and it was like scary, but I wanted to see it. It took twenty minutes to get over there, the whole time fighting this unexplainable fear I was getting, and for what? Just as I got close, it teleported me back to the actual play area.

I get that weird phobia when I almost die and go out of bounds. Its so uncomfortable😖. But this video is really cool!

I have that same fear, I remember when I was about 7 I clipped out of bounds in a Lego marvel game, and I was just falling with a peach colored background, and I just got creeped out.

I had something similar to your OOB fear. I used to play Disney Infinity, and whenever you got close to the death plane (the bottom of the map), this creepy white haze would show up and this disturbing beeping noise. (it reminded me of those radio interruption tones that play when there's dangerous weather) It always scared me so much, and even worse- I can't find any trace of this online.

I have the opposite of that phobia. I love out of bounds stuff. When the distant mountains become a cardboard cutout and stuff. I love it

I feel like the out of bounds fear comes from the fear of being stranded. It may have something to do with how the music fades out and how things start to render out.

Really, please try it again when the invisible walls are removed or with a newer version of the mod or anything that make it possible to get closer!!!!!

I have that feeling too, it comes from knowing your doing something wrong (in-game wise) and a lack of music as the games response too, I guess it’s more a fear of like the game getting mad at you or something for it? It’s like staring into a mirror until you get uncomfortable. Nothing wrong with it, just doesn’t feels right

when I go into the deep woods in the wooded kingdom I get anxiety

when I was like 9 I had a toy story 3 game on the wii and there was this train level I fell out of bounds in. It went white and I fell for like 3 minutes. Now at that point I was already scared shitless cause I was 9 but then it teleported me back up and I got literally stuck in an prop and it started to glitch out. It froze and just had the most ear piercing sound play, then my Wii couldn't read the disc. I have been terrified of out of bounds areas since.

I love going out of bounds probably one of my favorite things to do in video games. (Some times even more so than playing the game). It's like taking a look into the fabric of reality and seeing what's really behind video games and the illusions they use.

Yea I have that same sort of anxiety/fear when I go out of bounds. It’s cause there’s just endless nothing and it’s disturbing.

I have the same phobia. I think with me it's because there's nothing out of the boundaries and that sense of nothingness really can be unsettling. Topped with the level music fading out adds to the anxiety that this isn't right.

honestly subnautica's out of bounds or "dead zone/void" really scares me. it technically isn't out of bounds, but the ocean floor drops off and all you are left with is an infinite sea of nothing but micro organisms and giant glowing sea serpents.

When you can see something from one side but not from the other it's called "back-faced culling"

In version two of the mod it removes the invisible walls.

The mod should be updated so the invisible walls could be removed and the moon jump could be controlled like the one in SM64.....

Going out of bounds in Legend of Zelda Breath Of The Wild was cool as first, but then the nonsensical world I was in eventually got to me. It just felt empty.

11:43 Actually the reason for that is you probably have kenophobia which is the fear of empty spaces or voids.

WARNING ⚠️ if you want to mod your switch I would recommend modding one that doesn’t have any precious save files on it, modding a switch isn’t always the safest option and sometimes can even lead to your switchs memory being erased completely

In the sand Kingdom you can use the flying guy and you don't have to use a mod I've done it so many times before it's really fun

I hate the fact that you can't traverse the far away islands sooo much. At least in Sunshine you were able to reach the islands that you saw in the distance. Like seeing pinna park for the first time from delfino plaza, you were able to go there eventually. Here it just sucks because there's nothing except skyboxes and non existant land.

Is anything was solid out of bounds, one of two things would happen: either everyone would mod their switch to place their balloons out there or Nintendo would be forced to put a patch out that not only makes the out of bounds area not solid, but also adds in new small things.

In the lake kingdom, try to do the cheep cheep glitch. I believe the KZfaqr DGR showed cased it. Beside that point when you do the cheep cheep fish glitch you can get out of the map. After that try to see if you can get out even more. (I believe that the cheep cheep fish you need is near the giant glope) have a good day my dude
