Theory: Since Wooly said, "I guess you really forgot." and it went to question marks that he has something to do with her father, and maybe her whole lifestyle. She got upset when we did not help the kitten, in which the kitten resembled her. She started to cry, and also, Wooly has been acting like the victim. When Amanda finally came back to her senses and asked if everyone rots, because she thinks her father is dead, Wooly cuts her off and says of course not in a tone a parent would use to convince their child to do something. But, when Amanda says she wasn't asking him, he acts like the victim. Amanda is Rebecca, and ever since she got into the Show, she has not been let out. So, she has tried multiple times to get out of the game through multiple children. Clearly, Amanda is a lost child. She has been trapped for so long---which we notice when she said she forgot her friend's (Kate) name. Amanda is lost because Wooly has taken her in, confused her, told her he was her best friend, and has played the victim of this game for various years. Amanda is only doing what her game malfunctions her to do. Amanda has wanted to be returned to her dad, but apparently, he's gone. Eventually, Amanda begins to be annoyed, and starts to punish Wooly. She starts to grow a monster inside of her and breaks into the player's basement. So, in conclusion, the puffy-haired, scary, trapped, kind-of-nice, heartbroken, girl is not the monster of this story. ????? IS.

Seeing Amanda break down over the lonely kitten was heart breaking. I feel she may be subconscioully projecting her (Rebecca's) own past onto it, without really realizing it. I don't think Amanda truly knows she's Rebecca, but there are ways to unlock and trigger certain memories of her real self. Wooly not being there to comfort her adds to her feeling extremely lonely, otherwise he probably would have interjected with something like "I know... how about we become the kitten's family?"

After i have watched the whole amanda adventure gameplay, something has been going through my head. So i have a theory, when you wrote amanda/rebecca's father in the first tape you can see the barnhouse looked straight at you, same as wooly. And in the "accident" part where wooly is sobbing out, try to focus on the left screen. Both of the swing are moving, it implies that amanda is not satisfied of wooly's suspicious behavior. And in the next part you could notice the both swing changed it's color, and it's a color coding it means wooly has gotten amanda pissed off. The rotting one where she mentioned what's the opposite of "alive?" It is obviously about her rotting body. And in the end of the game which is the true/good ending she ended off with "Out there. Somewhere." And that somewhere is at kate's house, that's why when you mess up answering amanda's questions. A gigantic blue monster approaches you and kills you. She is buried under kate's house.

This may be a little far fetched, but I think the person possessing that barn is Sam himself. Throughout the entire game, even the previous versions, all the other objects have acted similarly, but here this barn is off. The eyes are red, it moves as if it’s about to blow up, and not to mention it looks at you when you type in Sam as if it’s responding to that name. So maybe Sam isn’t dead, but perhaps just trapped.

A theory yall prolly know: So in the credits you can see Rebecca as Amanda ( 6:54 ) It actually makes a lot more sense if Rebeca is AMANDA. Because when she says ''And there's a daddy chicken'' she said it sadly and slowly, probably because her father ''Sam'' went missing. So when you type Sam she's suprised because she didn't know Riley knew her father's name (I think we are playing as Riley) Riley probably knew her father's name because her aunt ''Kate'' helped with the Library thingy or smth.

Although... that name does sound familiar..." or for the knife, instead of her saying," we can't use that!", Wooly cuts in, saying," w-wait, isn't that your...?" And the TV glitches to amanda automatically holding the knife, saying," That's right! We need a shaaaarp knife!" And to go the further mile, if you put "Sam" in all the tapes, I feel like the player should get an achievement saying," I'm out there... Somewhere." Which would also reference the good ending of amanda the adventurer. But that's just my idea, as I would think that'd be cool to see, but other than that, I love how this horror game has hidden lore, and we all know we'd love to see more of that, in order to further understand Amanda's backstory, and what happened to her actress, Rebecca Colton, as well as her dad, Sam Colton.

(I'm still not really sure about Kate's significance in the lore aside from the fact that she would talk about ata in the library to children) also, wooly always seems to try to be Amanda to stop thinking about things that may uncover her past, like when she says she feels herself rotting and wooly trys to shut her up. I think Amanda kinda went crazy and that's why she tried to be rid of wooly so she could finally be free to share her secret with us without wooly stopping her
