I got a preowned car at a dealer a few years back, and figured they snuck in some charge for this "paint protection plan" .....yea it was 200$ , and I just chalked it up to getting shystered by a dealer. Well, after about 3 years now I notice I haven't waxed it yet and it still beads off. Looks as shiny as the day I got it. That newfangled ceramic stuff is pretty nifty, way better than my old rotary dial phone 🤣

How much does a full ceramic coat usually cost?? I really need to get this done, I have a white car, and live in a rainy climate, and it’s breaking my heart keeping it clean this looks ideal. Cheers for the vid great info

"Silica dioxide" is a bit of an oxymoron . Like saying "metallic steel". It is either silica or silicon dioxide. The most common usage is silicon dioxide. Hard ? For sure! Silicon dioxide is used to define the Mohs hardness scale , just under silicon carbide and diamond respectively. "Glass polymer " ? Not. Silicon dioxide is a crystal, glass is not. Neither one is a polymer.

Is ceramic coating and then a layer of paint protection film something people do or will it just ruin the ceramic coating?

Good question Dalton. No, there is no reason to put a ceramic coating under the film. In fact, having a ceramic coating on the vehicle's paint may cause adhesion problems for the film.

Have you had/heard of any issues with ceramic coatings over matte ppf? Specifically the Llumar brand? Thanks for the vid!

We have not or have not heard of any issues with putting coating on LLumar PPF. We put coatings on top of 90% of the film we do.

Chicago Auto Pros just had our Model 3 coated in it, wish I had some to send you. Seems very hydrophobic so far. We’ll see how it goes.

In order to ceramic coat your car do you have to clay bar it first?? Or can you just coat it after a simple wash?

Yes, clay bar and a light polish is going to be key to maximum durability.

You need to wash then use iron remover and then it needs clayed then after that 2 stage buff your paint then it will be ready to apply. If not applied right you will ruin the paint
