About the data transmission via light, there were certain things where it used to be possible to read the raw data on a hard drive just by having a sensor or camera or something pointed at the hard drive light or networking light or some such on certain old things

Hi Eli. Thank you so much for the great video. I will be listening to the series. However, I took my EE degree in 1980, so it pains me to have the old network topologies disrespected so much. Many may be obsolete in their original incarnation, but the concept and theory should be studied as they frequently come back in new forms. I2C which you brought up, is a buss topology. All the networks around us like CAN Bus , cell networks, mqtt networks, etc.. may use old concepts in a new way. Imagine what the deep space network will be in 50 years. Thanks again!

I feel like a good extreme example to demonstrate the difference between speed and latency is imagine you have a storage drive (could be a flash drive or hard drive or SSD or SD/microSD card, whatever) and it's already full and you grab it and put your shoes on and drive it somewhere and plug it in to a computer somewhere. You might have an amazing effective speed transfer that way, but the latency is howeverlong it took you to drive there, which is not anywhere near acceptable if you were expecting it to be the same as having a wired or wireless or even satellite internet connection. This is an extreme example to demonstrate the difference between speed and latency, and why they matter. You expect a snail mail letter to take at least a significant portion of a business day to get somewhere, but you would be confused if an internet connection had more than a few seconds of latency. Expecting sneakernet to have latency anywhere near comparable to an internet connection is similarly silly, but it demonstrates the difference between speed and latency.

With all those frameworks, languages to learn. I put my wishes to learn those on the shelf and putting time to learn the fundamentals and omg. You are one of the best sirrrrr ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
