Yep ..there are much more ways to this beautiful way of loop scheduling. It has changed our homeschooling dynamic for the better. I like the ways you shared, however we just line up the entire list of learning topics/subjects and cycle through them daily but Bible is the star that I try to keep constant (: Happy homeschooling 🎉

thank you this video was extremely helpful. Next year my daughter will be doing 2nd grade level work and I was starting to get overwhelmed with all of the subjects...and this really helped to get a visual and understanding of how a loop schedule can look like. I really appreciate it.

We've been doing daily loop scheduling (tues art, wed science, etc) this year, but I think I am going to try weekly (or longer) loops next year. We find it challenging to get to everything every week. I think if we spend more focused time on one subject for longer periods of time, then we might get to dive deeper into the topics that we love instead of them getting skipped because we ran out of time. Thanks for the video!

Last year I looped catechism and art. This year I'm adding nature study and music and we've been doing Spanish this summer. I haven't 100% figured out my schedule but there will definitely be looking going on!

I know this is an older video, so you may not see this comment, but I’m curious how you write your loop subjects down in your log? Do you label it “loop subject” and write whatever they did that day? Trying to figure out how I want to organize it in the upcoming school year as I will be trying out looping for the first time! But it’s difficult as someone who is super particular about how I write things down 😆

Hi! I am a new subbie. We will be doing loop scheduling for my 5K kiddo this year. I set up 2 loops, STEAM and ELA. The plan is to work no more than 30 minutes in each loop. Science will be first semester, history will be second semester, art once a week.

@@JoyfulNoiseLiving So far it is working well. Art didn't happen though. He just isn't interested right now. He is getting music, PE, and book club from our co-op every other week and he loves that.

@@jenniferharley8987This is brilliant! My daughter is doing K this coming year and it’s overwhelming adding in so many subjects! I love the idea of just doing semesters though if the bigger ones of science and history. I was going to loop art, music, and probably one more thing but hadn’t decided how to get in those. Any tips based on how it went for you guys?

Question- how do you complete a curriculum in a school year if you are only doing it once a week?
@JoyfulNoiseLiving
@JoyfulNoiseLiving Жыл бұрын
Great question! Well, one way to help that is to do longer lessons on the days that you do the subject once a week. Do a longer chunk like an hour or more to cover more ground. And I’m not talking about core subjects here, like math and reading. Those subjects you would do on a daily basis. This is like the things that your kids need to have exposure to, but the curriculum doesn’t need to be finished in a year. Like music, or art, or skip counting, or grammar practice, or map work or nature study. Does that help?
@hstewart3612
@hstewart3612 Жыл бұрын
@@JoyfulNoiseLiving Yes, thank you! I loop some of those subjects already. I’m thinking about looping science and history this year, I’m just not sure how to do it and still complete the curriculum without having it carry over into the next year. I may just be trying to do do too much! Homeschool planning is exhausting 😩
@JoyfulNoiseLiving
@JoyfulNoiseLiving Жыл бұрын
@@hstewart3612 yes! Try not to worry too much about completing it, especially for the elementary age. Looping history and science is also what I do. And we don’t often finish those curricula. Maybe try 2 times a week?

Don't do a foreign language as a chunk of a few weeks in a term. You will lose too much between times.
